Beauty In The Business

I had an interesting conversation with my friend today, about asking for what you want, and trying not to feel uncomfortable about it, or that you are asking for too much when in actual fact it is probably just a small detail that will make you happier.

Swipe to the next photo, I'm not showing how my dress matched the decor 😅 but I am showing how tight our table was against a wall. My view was a wall to my left, and 3 other tables, I felt like they put baby in the corner 🥲

Louis knew I didn't like the table and also it was my birthday, give us the good table!

So we asked for a better table, and got one. For me it made the difference, it was an expensive restaurant and we work hard for our money to spend in said places.

So if something isn't right, or you need something more, always ask!

Asking for what you want could also improve a business and the experience it gives to customers. Maybe the waiter will ask a customer next time, 'Is this table OK for you?'

Whatever it is, try to see the self care in the small moments, it might only be an hour but as a working mum, that hour can be golden ✨️

Just don't ever forget you, when you're taking care of everyone and everything else. You depend on it 🩷

Where do I start with yesterday 🤩

We had an absolute ball! A day full of Tropic goodness, connecting, laughing and inspiration 🩷

Followed by an epic night of entertainment and lots of dancing!

I joined TROPIC in lockdown with a baby 5 years ago and shared the love of the products over zoom with friends and family! Like what the helly 😅👏

Fast forward 5 years and I have a successful, strong business that I believe in, trust, and build consistently.

My business is built on results, honesty and providing the best service to my customers 🫰🏼

I was a Tropic ambassador long before I was a facialist and it will always be the foundation of my business.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am obsessed with the products....it's all my family and I use! 💯

As a new season of motherhood is now here, with both of my children in school, my business now approaches a new season too.

I have built my beauty business from the ground up with two children very close in age. This meant I could not work as many days as I used to, if I did something would have to give.
My business or time with my children. I chose to split my time and stopped wondering where my business would be if I had more hours to pour into it.

Women in business and mothers in business are two seperate entities, you can't tell me any different.

It took some time for me in the beginning to set boundaries, price accordingly and put systems in place.
At one time I would work all day, collect both children from the child minders, put them to bed and then go back to work for my evening clients.

I was working like I wasn't a mum, I was tired...alot!

Something had to give, I took my days down to 3 and mapped out my business so that it worked around my family. No regrets.

Could I make even more money by working more days? Absolutely, will I do that? Absolutely not.

In my business specifically, I hold space for my clients, I am constantly thinking about what my clients need, along with the preparation for the day, the cleaning inbetween clients and the end of day close down.

This is not something I would want to do 5 days a week, who came up with Monday to Friday 9-5 anyway? Probably a man 😅

How I work, and the days I work ensure that each client gets my full attention, and I stay enjoying my work 🩷

When I see someome post their 9am to 9pm day with 12 clients, that is not the vibe, would you want to be their last client of the day? I wouldn't 🙈

So my days and hours won't change, but with both children now in school, I have days off in the week to do whatever I like, sometimes selfcare, sometimes catching up on admin and most definitely working ON my business.

So if another person asks me if I'm working more days now because both children are school, my answer is no. Us women are busy as it is, my days off start now.
