Festival of Youth Teams Announced 🏆

Congratulations to all youth riders that have been selected to represent their region at the Festival of Youth Championships taking place at Bishop Burton Equine Centre, East Yorkshire between the 29 July - 2 August.

From keeping them hydrated to helping them stay cool, these simple tips will make all the difference in keeping your horse comfortable during the warmer weather.

Cool your horse down with water without scraping until vital signs return…

Hydrate - offer access to clean, cool drink water

Inspect for signs of heat stress - including rapid breathing, lethargy, and poor appetite.

Limit exercise where possible - particularly during high heat and intense sunlight. Ride early in the day to avoid the heat of the day!

Look after recovery and provide access to shade during and after cooling off. Offer your horse electrolytes before and after strenuous exercise and help avoid mineral depletion which can impact muscle function.
