It takes around two weeks for horses to adapt to warmer temperatures.

Usually, our British summers don't stay hot for long enough to notice... but this year seems to have other ideas ☀️

If you've started riding during the day again, remember that warmer weather and increased sweating mean replacing lost electrolytes becomes even more important to support hydration and recovery.

If your paddock has gone from lush green to brown and patchy, you're certainly not the only one.

This summer's dry weather has left many horses relying much more heavily on hay. While hay is an essential forage, it doesn't provide the same diversity of plants that horses would naturally browse from healthy pasture.

That variety plays an important role in supporting the hindgut microbiome, which is why prolonged periods on limited fibre sources can have a knock-on effect on digestion, condition and overall resilience.
