Route maintenance 🌞 What an honour to have the beautiful Beth in the chair today 💞 Beth installed my dreads 10 years ago and we've been friends ever since 🥰 The top layer are fairly new so she didn't want me to crochet down the length of these ones. Don't you just love the texture and natural wiggles of her loose ends ✨

Ange books in for root maintenance every 3-4 months ✨ She takes such good care of her dreads in between appointments by palm rolling regularly and ensuring her dreads are kept separate at the roots. Today we focussed on taming the fluff and tightening her roots. Two hours later she was all good to go ☺️

Today we focussed on brushing out one of her dreads (installed by another locticion) which was much wider at the root than all the others. I replaced it with two new locs with loose ends, the same size as all her others. Next time we plan to complete the row with 5 or 6 new dreads.

I thought it was about time I did a little introduction post, since I've never got round to doing one before 😅

So I'm Stell 🤗 Nottingham born and bred. I live in Bulwell with my lovely partner and our furry crew (1 crazy dog and 2 cats). We've got two amazing kids - go check out their insta accounts for all your crochet needs and travel inspo 🧶 🌍

I've got several part-time jobs. Alongside making and maintaining dreadlocks I'm a Social Worker, a Community Connector at the wonderful and i also run a vegan ice cream business with my partner throughout the summer months . Variety really is the spice of life! 

In my spare time (I do get some 🤣) I adore spending time in nature and mucking about in my garden 🌼

I've had a number of enquiries about woolies/wool dreadlock extensions. I could bang on and on about my own personal reasons for avoiding wool but I think this pic about covers it 😘🌱🐑

Install day for the beautiful Treena 💜💚💙 Seven single ended textured locs and a dread bobble to give her mane that extra wow ⭐ Such a pleasure to spend time with you lovely and to make your hair dreams come true 💞

Maintenance for Shannon and her super soft blue locs 💙 She had been flipping them herself to keep them tight at the root, without realising the damage this can cause. I flipped them all back into shape for her and tightened the roots, crocheting in all the loose hairs along the way ✨

Freya and her gorgeous curls ✨💕 For her 16th birthday she asked her parents for a hair makeover. The colour and cut was done by the wonderful Mitzi Gaunt and the two chunky dreads were created by me. I can't wait to see how they develop and grow over time 🥰

This has been bothering me way too much for far too long 😅 The end, or the start of this dread (whichever way you view it) had become so hard and condensed over the years it really began to grate on me. Now it's gone I feel totally liberated! 😂 It's also fascinating to look inside an old loc and marvel at its structure. All those tiny hairs working their magic! ✨
