Feras Barbers

At my most recent advice surgery I was joined by Feras from Feras Barbers on Bath Street.

Feras came to Britain as a refugee from Syria during the civil war, and now runs a successful business in Ilkeston town centre.

He asked to meet with me because now, he wants to give back to the community that he and his family have made their home.

He's looking to work with local charities and community groups to offer free hair cuts to elderly, disabled, and vulnerable people, who might otherwise struggle with mobility and accessing services.

It was great to meet Feras - interesting to hear his story, the incredible life he's been able to build here, and how much he clearly loves Ilkeston and its people.

My advice surgeries are held regularly, I move around the constituency to hold them. Demand is very high so waits can be long but if you've got anything to raise - please get in touch!
