Scrolling through social media yesterday really highlighted just how many people are trying to sell us something.
But with so much choice, how do we know who to follow, who to believe, and ultimately, who to trust — not only with our hard-earned money, but with something far more precious: our skin?
I feel particularly for younger people who are constantly being targeted with promises of quick fixes, miracle results and the “next big thing”. There are some wonderful, knowledgeable and genuinely ethical professionals within our industry, but there are also influencers and businesses whose primary motivation is financial gain.
Of course, we are all here to make a living — there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But chasing the pound shouldn’t come at the expense of someone else’s wellbeing, or at the cost of your integrity.
And I’m not just talking about the latest “wonder” serum.
This applies across our entire industry: the newest machine, treatment, technique, product or brand, as well as the people selling education and training.
At some point, we have to become more discerning as consumers and start asking questions:
What’s really in it for them?
Are they recommending this because they genuinely believe it’s right for me, or because they need to hit a sales target?
Are they sharing balanced, evidence-based information — including the limitations and risks — or simply telling me what I want to hear?
Would they still recommend it if there was nothing financially in it for them?
We have to remember that marketing is designed to persuade us. Not everything presented with confidence, beautiful results or a large following is necessarily the right choice for us.
So ask questions. Do your research. Look beyond the hype. Seek out professionals who are willing to tell you what you don’t want to hear, as well as what you do.
Because when it comes to your skin, your health and your money, trust should be earned — not simply marketed.
Integrity will always matter more than a sales target

Cherry Angioma Removal with Advantaged Electrolysis at Caroline Quinn Skin
Those little red spots that seem to appear out of nowhere can be frustrating, especially when they’re in a noticeable area.
Cherry angiomas are very common, harmless clusters of small blood vessels that tend to become more noticeable with age. Genetics, hormonal changes and sun exposure may also contribute to their development.
The good news is that they can often be treated and removed for cosmetic reasons using Advantaged Electrolysis.
Treatment is precise and targeted to the individual angioma, helping to reduce and remove the visible red spot while leaving you with clearer, more even-looking skin.
Many clients are delighted with the difference treatment can make and love seeing those unwanted red spots disappear.
If you have cherry angiomas you would like removed, get in touch to arrange a consultation and find out how Advantaged Electrolysis could help you achieve clearer-looking skin.
Prices start at £60 for 15mins, £85 for 30mins and £100 for 45mins

MILIA REMOVAL TREATMENTS
If you’re struggling with milia and want to get them safely and professionally removed, I’m offering two treatment options depending on your skin and what you’re looking for.
OPTION 1 — BASIC MILIA REMOVAL | £60
A quick, simple treatment focusing specifically on the removal of milia.
I use diathermy, which applies a tiny amount of controlled heat to the milia to treat and remove them. It’s a quick process, so you can be in and out in around 15 minutes.
I would recommend applying a little numbing cream beforehand, as this can make the treatment more comfortable and can also make the removal process easier.
15-minute appointment | £60

OPTION 2 — MILIA PRESCRIPTIVE FACIAL | £85
If you’re looking for more than just removal, the Milia Prescriptive Facial is a more personalised treatment designed to look at the overall health and condition of your skin, as well as addressing the milia.
Your treatment will include a thorough consultation and skin assessment, allowing me to tailor the facial to your individual skin type, concerns and needs.
The facial will include:
• A prescriptive facial tailored specifically to your skin
• Professional milia removal where appropriate
• A deeper focus on improving the overall health and condition of your skin
• LED light therapy to support and calm the skin
• Personalised skincare advice and product recommendations
• Guidance on how to manage your skin at home
• Advice on how to help prevent and minimise the development of milia in the future
This is the ideal option if you want to understand why you may be getting milia, improve your overall skin health and leave with a personalised plan for managing your skin going forward.
Milia Prescriptive Facial | £85
If you’re unsure which treatment would be best for you, feel free to message me and I can advise you on the most suitable option.

XANTHELASMA TREATMENT — ADVANCED ELECTROLYSIS
Xanthelasma are small, yellowish deposits that commonly appear around the eyelids. Although they are usually harmless, many people choose to have them treated for cosmetic reasons.
At Caroline Quinn Skin I offer Advanced Electrolysis treatment, this uses precise, controlled electrical energy to target the affected tissue with accuracy, helping to improve the appearance of the area while aiming to minimise unnecessary impact on the surrounding skin.
Why choose advanced electrolysis?
• Precise treatment of small areas
• Tailored to each individual
• Performed with careful attention to the delicate eye area
• Professional, cosmetic-focused approach
• Suitable treatment options discussed during consultation
Interested in treatment?
Book a consultation to discuss your xanthelasma and whether advanced electrolysis is appropriate for you.
Results vary from person to person. Xanthelasma can sometimes be associated with underlying medical conditions, so medical assessment may be recommended before cosmetic treatment.

Fibrous Papule
A fibrous papule is a small, harmless, non-cancerous growth that typically appears as a firm, dome-shaped bump on or around the nose or chin. Also known as an angiofibroma, it is composed of fibrous tissue and blood vessels. These growths are strictly cosmetic and will not turn into cancer.
Key Characteristics
* Appearance: Firm, smooth, dome-shaped, or slightly raised.
* Color: Skin-colored or occasionally pink/red.
* Size: Usually very small, measuring between 1 to 5mm in diameter.
* Location: Most commonly on the tip or sides of the nose, but can occasionally appear on the chin, cheeks or forehead.
* Occurrence: Most frequently develop in young to middle-aged adults, often as a single solitary lesion.
Causes
The exact cause is unknown, but it is considered a localised, benign overgrowth of normal skin components (collagen, fibroblasts, and blood vessels) that can emerge with age. They are not contagious and are not related to sun exposure
Treatment and Removal
Treatment is purely optional, as the lesions pose no medical threat and remain stable over time. However, because they are located in a highly visible area, many individuals choose to have them removed for cosmetic reasons. These can be treated swiftly and effectively with Advanced Electroloysis. Once removed, fibrous papules rarely grow back. For more information contact Caroline Quinn Skin
