From Smokey Eye Queen to Panini Queen. ✨
“I thought you did the makeup, hen?” 😂
Honestly… so did I 🌚

I left YSL and started working in the salon in November 2019, ready to build the next chapter of my makeup career . 👩‍🎨

A few months later, around Feb 2020, I started helping in Scott’s family business too . 🥖

Then March happened.

Lockdown hit, makeup appointments stopped and everything changed almost overnight. As a MUA I was one of the last industries able to return because of how close I work to clients eyes, noses and mouths.

So the brushes went down… and butcher deli life took over for nearly 4 years🥪😂

I was making paninis, serving customers and helping wherever I was needed. It wasn’t just the deli either , funeral teas, sports dinners and basically whatever else needed done 😂

The regulars, pals and banter were unreal and became one of my favourite parts of it 😂😜💦

And where would I have been without my Queen Lizzy 👑❤️ We worked side by side for years, day in and day out — my wee deli bestie through all the madness. I miss you so much, Lizzy. ❤️

Anyone who knows me, especially my clients from that time, will know this era well. When the world opened back up, I was literally juggling paninis and smokey eyes — deli life during the week, makeup whenever I could, trying to build everything back up at the same time.

Scott said he’d never seen the queue so busy once I arrived 👀😂 …JK.

The deli gave me routine, purpose and something to focus on during such an uncertain time. It was the complete opposite of the life I’d known before, but such an important chapter for me.

& XMAS? Absolute madness 😂🎄 Helping in the famous Graeme’s Butchers with the unofficial motto:
“NO TURKEY, NO WORKY!” 🦃😂

Looking back, that era taught me resilience, adaptability and that sometimes life takes you somewhere you never expected.

Unexpected, chaotic, hard work… and I’ll always be grateful for it 🩵

The coffee. The overthinking. The 18,373,838,283 tabs open in my head. Working two jobs. Never really switching off. Buying makeup I absolutely do not need. Writing a to-do list every single day. Loving a holiday but somehow only taking 3 Saturdays off this year. 😂

Can make decisions for everyone else… somehow incapable of making one for myself. Will make a decision, overthink it, change my mind and probably change it back again. 😂

Working hard, figuring it out as I go and trying to enjoy the good bits along the way. 🤍
