Listen, we love a little flirt. Who doesn’t? 👀
Let’s just say these sentences will make us best friends # # #
Ever feel like your hairs been the same length for months on end? Trust me its growing…it’s just BREAKING at the same rate 🙄
Here’s where you’re going wrong...
1. Heat styling being a part of your daily routine. Overusing straighteners, curlers, hair dryers etc. without heat protection can weaken your hair, causing the ends to snap. Consider air drying your hair to around 80-90% before blow drying, using rollers or loose braids and buns to create texture.
2. Wearing tight hair styles too often. We all know you love a slick back BUT be conscious of how often your hair is tightly tied up, you could think about introducing nourishing oils to your slick back routine.
3. Being too rough with wet hair. Hair is at its weakest when wet. Aggressive brushing, towel drying, or sleeping with wet hair can cause snapping. Instead, use a wide tooth comb to detangle and allow your hair to dry before sleeping whenever possible.
4. Skipping regular trims. Tiny split ends don’t stay tiny! Without regular trims and a good haircare routine, splits travel further up the hair shaft, leading to more breakage and less length retention. Every 8-12 weeks is ideal.
Can you remember when your last trim was?
Your hair is probably doing its job and growing exactly as it should. Now it’s about giving those ends the best chance of sticking around 💜
& we wouldn’t change it for the world 🥹🫧
If your hair still feels greasy after washing it... this could be why đź‘€
Alot of people simply do a quick wash, condition and blow dry. Unfortunatelyyyy that’s not enough!
Here’s where you’re going wrong:
✨ You’re skipping the second shampoo (the one that’s ACTUALLY going to clean your hair)
This is probably the biggest one. The first shampoo lifts the oil and build up, the second actually gets your hair properly clean. DO BOTH!
✨ You’re not focusing on your roots.
Your scalp is where all the oil and product build up is, so that’s where your shampoo needs to be.
Conditioner on the other hand is what you should almost avoid on the roots but focus on the mid to ends of your hair.
✨ You’re rushing it... (I know we’re all guilty 👀)
Don’t just slap your shampoo on and rinse it straight off. Spend a minute really working it into your scalp. It should become foamy (on the second wash).
✨ You’re not rinsing properly.
Any shampoo or conditioner left behind can leave your hair feeling heavy, flat and greasy almost instantly.
✨ You’re going to bed with damp hair.
We know it’s tempting, but your scalp doesn’t get chance to fully dry, which can leave your hair feeling greasy much sooner.
Some of the smallest tweaks to your routine could make the BIGGEST difference.
Which one are you guilty of? đź‘€
You’re spending ALOT of money on your hair extentions, this is what to avoid...
1. Don’t go longer than the reccomended time inbetween maintenance appointments. Every 8-10 weeks is the sweet spot. Longer is damaging your hair and you’re adding hours to your appointment time.
2. NEVER go to sleep with wet hair. Not even damp hair. This will cause matting and breakage. ALWAYS dry before bed.
3. Avoid anything but sleeping on a silk or satin pillow. This helps reduce friction.
4. Keep products off your roots. Oils, serums or leave ins near bonds will create slippage.
5. Don’t use too much heat.
Extensions don’t receive natural oils from your scalp, so they’re more prone to drying out. Always use a heat protector and keep the temperature as low as possible.
