Some photos from my big charity chop πŸ’‡πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

This will be the only time that mine and my daughter's hair will be the same length 😍

I was really delighted to have managed to grow my hair long enough to donate 16 inches ☺️

I ended up not having as short a style as I had planned but I look forward to getting used to my newly cut hair, and not having to use as much shampoo or take as long to dry it πŸ˜„

But the most important thing of all of this is being a small part that will make such a difference to a child's life - and that's what this is all about πŸ’œ

Thank you for your support πŸ™

Just a quick update …

I had 16 inches of hair chopped off yesterday πŸ’‡πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
It feels great. I didn’t go quite as short as I thought I was going to, but we decided to get used to the big transition first.

I am so proud that my hair will make such a difference to a child’s life ☺️

A massive thank you to you all - I am now at Β£1360 πŸ’œ
And also a big thank you to my family who came along to support me, and a couple of clients who turned up to surprise me too 😊

Sorry I didn’t live stream - it all felt a bit chaotic in the salon! But I have a gazillion of photos and videos to sort through and will share them with you asap 😊

Off to the post office now to send my locks to the Little Princess Trust Charity πŸ’œ

Have a great day everyone 😎

πŸ’‡πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ So, this time tomorrow my long Goldilocks will be gone and donated to the littleprincesstrustcharity to make a wig for a child going through cancer.

πŸ™πŸΌ I just wanted to thank all of my clients, friends and family who have been so supportive, kind and generous sponsoring me … I have raised a fantastic Β£1175 so far for The Little Princess Trust Charity.
It cost Β£700 to make and provide 1 wig to a child going through the unimaginable, so thank you for helping me reach my goal.

πŸ’œ Tomorrow I will be heading back to Apollo Hair Salon in Netherton, surrounded by my family, and I will film the chop to share with you.
I haven’t done this before but I plan on live streaming it … so watch this space!

If you would still like to support me and this incredible charity then please follow this link and donate whatever you can.

It has taken me 5 years to grow my hair down to my waist, and I am looking forward to a new style 😊

See you tomorrow πŸ˜ƒ

AMANDA's fundraiser for Little Princess Trust 18/07/2026

So, when Covid hit and we couldn't get our hair cut, I decided to grow my hair and donate it to the Little Princess Trust, who make and provide wigs for children who are going through cancer.

Growing up my hair was always long, apart from when I was 15 and I had it cut really short, but apart from that it was long up until I was in my 40's. My Dad, who was also blonde, never wanted me to have my hair cut, he said that I should show off my beautiful blonde hair ... he would be super impressed now as it is, remarkably, down to my waist! It has never ever been this long ... the only disappointing thing is that since going through the menopause my hair isn't as thick, but I am extremely happy that my beautiful blonde hair will be made into a wig for a precious child going through an unimaginable time.

There are so many worthy charities out there, and many close to my heart .
Many of you will remember when I threw myself out of an airplane for the British Heart Foundation in memory of my Dad - in fact I did it with my Brother and Niece on what would have been my Dad's 70th birthday - it was a special day surrounded by my family, a fabulous experience, and I raised an incredible Β£1000.

But Cancer is something that affects pretty much everyone, either directly or indirectly. I have sadly lost family, friends and clients to Cancer, as well as having friends and clients who are bravely living with it now. However, being a Mum, I can not even begin to imagine being told that your child has Cancer, but this is what happened to Wendy and Simon, who tragically lost their 5 year old Daughter, Hannah, in 2005. The Little Princess Trust was set up in her memory, and they make and provide wigs for children up to the age of 24 to help them regain their confidence and identity. They provide around 2000 wigs each year and is one of the largest charity funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

So, over the last 6 years I have been working towards this moment. I am heading back to Apollo Salon, where I used to work, on Thursday 20th August, and Louise will be chopping off my hair. I am not particularly social media or tech savvy, but I plan on live streaming it - so, I will keep you posted on that.

But in the meantime, here is the link to my JustGiving page - It costs Β£700 to provide a young person with a wig, so I would truly appreciate your support, and any amount that you are able to donate to this amazing charity would be fantastic.

My lovely Mum just popped in to see me at work, and brought in a beautiful posy of flowers from her garden - Lavender, Sweet Pea and Rosemary.
Thanks Mum πŸ’œπŸ©·πŸ’š looks great in my treatment room 😘

I love how my Pilates students lay down with their legs up the wall as soon as they arrive, waiting for everyone else and class to start. πŸ™πŸΌ

This is a great way to improve circulation, reduce swelling and help relieve tired legs - perfect after a hot day at work. πŸ₯΅
It’s also a great way to gently stretch the hamstrings and relax the lower back - all good in preparation for their Pilates class. πŸ’ͺ🏻
Plus they have a lovely chitchat about their week ☺️

Stay safe in the sun this bank holiday weekend everyone πŸŒžπŸ˜ŽπŸ’›

⚠ How many times have you experienced sunburn?

β€Ό Sunburn, reddening, peeling and even tanning of the skin are clear signs of sun damage.

β€Ό Over-exposure to UVA and UVB causes DNA cell damage that can lead to all types of skin cancer.

β˜€ Cumulative sun exposure is the main cause of non-melanoma skin cancer (the most common cancer in the UK), while sunburn plays a clear role in the development of melanoma (the 5th most common cancer in the UK).

β˜€ Sunburn at any age, but particularly in childhood or adolescence can significantly increase your risk of developing melanoma. Skin damage builds up over time starting with your very first sunburn and the more you burn, the greater your risk becomes.

β˜€ In fact, a history of just FIVE sunburns - DOUBLES your risk of melanoma.

β˜€ PROTECT your skin by:
βœ… Covering up with clothing, including a wide brimmed hat and sunglasses.
βœ… Applying an SPF 30+ sunscreen, generously and evenly - and reapply at least every two hours
βœ… Seeking shade during peak UV hours 11am - 3pm

β€Ό Daily skin protection and monthly skin surveillance is critical - it has the power to save lives!

πŸ‘‰ For a wealth of information and self-management tools to help you learn more and take charge of your skin health and surveillance, install the Skcin app today - here’s how:

(using Safari on iOS or Chrome on Android)

What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon … at an Intentional Breathwork class, with Verity at Calmabody Yoga Studio, Oundle Road, Peterborough.

This guided breathing session focussed on simple, practical techniques to help you feel calmer, clearer, and more in control of your own energy.

I came away feeling more grounded, relaxed and calm. Thank you Verity πŸ’“

Verity’s next session is on Saturday 13th June - checkout her social pages for further information
