Please Help Us Protect Our Small Business

Over the past few weeks we've seen a noticeable increase in last-minute cancellations and requests to reduce appointment times or services on the day of the appointment.

We completely understand that emergencies happen, and we'll always do our best to accommodate genuine situations. However, frequent short-notice changes have a significant impact on a small business like ours.

When you book an appointment, that time is reserved exclusively for you. We are around 99% fully booked most of the time, so when an appointment is cancelled or reduced at the last minute, it is extremely difficult to fill that space. This results in lost income that simply cannot be recovered.

Because of this, we will be reviewing our appointment policies.

Hair Appointments
Many of our regular clients have not been required to pay the standard 50% booking deposit. Unfortunately, if last-minute cancellations and changes continue, we will have no choice but to apply the same 50% deposit policy to all clients without exception.

Nail Appointments
At present, we do not take booking deposits for nail appointments. However, if these last-minute cancellations continue, we will introduce a deposit system, or appointments cancelled or significantly changed without sufficient notice may be charged at the full appointment value.

These measures are not something we want to introduce, but as a small business we have to protect our livelihood and ensure we can continue providing the service you all enjoy.

To the vast majority of our wonderful clients who always give us plenty of notice and respect our time, thank you. Your loyalty and understanding never go unnoticed, and we truly appreciate your continued support.

💅 An Update on Product Safety & TPO 💅
​You might have seen recent headlines about TPO (an ingredient used to cure nail products) being phased out. Because your safety and peace of mind are my absolute priorities, here is exactly what you need to know:

​What’s Changing: The nail company I partner with has already proactively removed TPO from their manufacturing, creating brand-new, TPO-free formulas moving forward.

​Current Stock is Legal & Safe: The official UK transition period means manufacturers stop supplying TPO products from 15 August 2026, and suppliers must stop selling them by 14 February 2027. The professional products I currently own are 100% safe, fully compliant, and completely legal to use.

​My Transition Plan: To avoid unnecessary waste, I am naturally replacing my existing stock with the new formulas as they run out over the coming months.

​Rest assured, my current stock is completely approved and safe for all of your gel polish, builder gel, and acrylic sets.

Vicky has spent 25 years in the nail industry, and I have spent 30 years in hairdressing and barbering.

A little personal post from me today (Caroline).
The other week I had my first mammogram and was called back in for further checks after something showed up. Naturally, it was a worrying time and today I went back for another mammogram and a scan.
Thankfully, everything is absolutely fine. It turned out to be a small cluster of lymph nodes (an intramammary lymph node) and nothing to worry about.
What this experience has reminded me is how important it is to check yourself and never ignore changes. Please, ladies, take the time to check your breasts regularly and attend your appointments when called - it really does matter.
I also want to say a huge thank you to my amazing mother-in-law, my daughters, and all of my lovely clients who listened, reassured me, shared advice, and checked in on me. Your support meant more than you probably realise.
Please use this as your little reminder to check yourselves. Early checking saves lives.

Some of you will know that for the last 3 years I have done nothing but talk about my youngest daughter and her journey through Arts University Plymouth... and now I finally get to share something really special.
She has officially finished university, and I honestly could not be prouder of everything she has achieved.
Her Graduation Show is open to the public from 19th June - 25th June (excluding 21st June) and I know so many of my lovely clients have asked about her work over the years and said they would love to see it.
