Who said tortoiseshell was just for autumn? 👀

Add a pop of electric blue and you’ve got a summer set that’s a little unexpected, but completely works. Bold, fresh and a nice change from the usual pastels.

This is why choosing the right carbide (or even ceramic) grit matters 👇
A misconception I’ve been seeing quite a bit recently is:
Coarser grit = faster results.
And whilst a coarser grit can remove product faster, the real misconception is that faster
automatically means better.

In reality, every grit has a purpose.
Choosing the right grit for the job gives you better control, a cleaner finish and often gets the
work done more efficiently than reaching straight for the most aggressive option.

✨ Yellow (Extra Fine)
Perfect for final refining, smoothing and finishing touches.
✨ Red (Fine)
A great all-rounder for shaping overlays, rebalancing/infills and refining.
✨ Blue (Medium)
Ideal when you need faster product removal, reshaping or reducing thicker areas.
✨ Green (Coarse)
Designed for heavy debulking, reducing length and fast removal of harder products.
✨ Black/Purple (Extra Coarse)
The beast mode option 👾 Perfect for breaking down large amounts of hard gel or acrylic
quickly.
A couple of things to remember:
✔ Carbide bits are for product removal, debulking and shaping. They are not used on the
natural nail plate.
✔ Use the recommended RPM for the bit and the job.
✔ Always stabilise your hand when using an e-file and ensure you have had proper training.
✔ The fastest bit isn’t always the best bit.
✔ Let the bit do the work. More pressure doesn’t mean better results.
✔ Keep the bit moving. Don’t hold it in one place on the nail plate.
The goal isn’t to remove product as fast as possible.The goal is to remove it efficiently, safely and with control.
Better grit selection = better finishes, happier clients and a much easier & safer service for you

A structured gel overlay isn’t just builder gel painted onto the nail.

It’s a carefully balanced structure designed to strengthen the natural nail, support growth and create long lasting wear.

The key bits:

Prep properly.

Remove shine, cleanse and dehydrate.

Apply your primer & base if your system requires it.

Then build with control, not chaos.

Your apex should sit fractionally behind the stress area, usually around the centre of the nail, not halfway up the client’s finger living its best life 󰜷😅

Too thin = weak and more likely to break or lift.

Too thick = heavy, bulky and more prone to lifting.

Aim for structure, not bulk.

Shape, refine, remove dust properly, top coat, cure fully and finish with cuticle oil.

Strong nails come from good prep, correct architecture and tidy application.
