Something I never thought would happen to me recently happened.

While I’m building Sõma, I have the odd day available, so I’ve decided to help out at a few spas. It’s actually been lovely to step behind the scenes, experience some beautiful spas and remind myself of the industry I’ve spent the last 20 years working in.

But there’s one thing I’ve realised, It’s just not me anymore.

Spas have been such a huge part of my life. I owned my own multi-award winning spa for 10 years, before making the incredibly difficult decision to close it and try something completely different.

And that brings me to Sõma.

I didn’t realise it at the time, but everything I experienced over those 20 years has helped me create exactly what I wanted Sõma to be.

Here, every treatment is truly bespoke to you.

Your lifestyle. Your concerns. Your goals.

You are truly listened to.

Because yes, spas are wonderful. They give you somewhere to escape, switch off and relax.

But what I wanted to create was something more personal.

Something where you don’t just come in for a treatment, you come in because your body actually needs something.

Maybe you’ve pulled a muscle in your leg after your 6am run along the beach.

I had a visit from the Dorset Tourism Awards today, as I’ve made it through to the next stage of the awards 🤩

I’m honestly so proud of this achievement. This was an award I always aspired to win with the spa, and last year I finally plucked up the courage to enter and was awarded Wellness Experience of the Year.

When I closed the spa, I genuinely didn’t know how things were going to go. I no longer offer a full day spa experience, so I’ve worked incredibly hard to ensure every client’s visit is exceptional, personalised, and leaves them with that same spa like feeling after visiting Sõma.

After giving it some thought, I decided to enter the awards again this year. No sauna, no whirlpool bath, just exceptional treatments and dedicated time for you as an individual. That makes me even prouder to have made it this far.
