Let’s talk about the ginger colour shift… 👀

Everyone loves a before and after, but as a brow artist I love the middle photo.

One of the first things you’ll often notice during Step 1 is that ginger/lightening colour shift. It’s a good indication that step 1 is starting to do its job.

But don’t rely on colour alone…

The biggest thing I’m looking for is movement.

Can I manipulate the hairs easily?

Dry hairs will tell you way more during a lamination hair check than wet hairs…..

Wet hairs can be really misleading. They often appear to sit perfectly, but once they’re dry you can really see if there’s movement and bounce still there.

Timings are just a manufacturer guide. Reading the hair in front of you will always be my final decision when deciding whether the hairs are ready or not.

July is looking just crazeee 🫶🫶🫶

A little reminder for my fellow brow artists because this UK heat is no joke…

If your salon or cabin is hotter than normal, your lamination products are likely to work quicker too.
Don’t rely on timings, watch those hairs like a hawk 👀 because the risk of over processing right now is scary REAL.

And for my gorgeous laminated brow clients… now is the time to look after them. Heat, sun, chlorine and holidays can all leave laminated brows feeling dry, so keep them conditioned and nourished. A good brow serum or oil will make all the difference.

This weather is amazing… but this is one of those times of year where a little extra care goes a long way.
