📘 More grafts doesn’t automatically mean a denser-looking hair transplant.
Hair density and visual density are two different things.
Two men could receive a similar number of grafts and end up with very different-looking coverage. That’s because the final appearance is influenced by much more than the graft count.
Hair thickness, curl, colour, contrast with the scalp, the number of hairs within each graft, the area being covered and how those grafts are distributed can all affect how dense the result actually looks.
This is why I don’t believe a hair transplant should be judged simply by “How many grafts am I getting?”
A bigger number isn’t automatically a better result.
It’s about understanding the individual’s hair characteristics and using their available grafts intelligently.

📚Can a receding hairline actually grow back?
The answer depends heavily on how far the hair loss has progressed.
If hairs around the hairline are still present but becoming finer, shorter and weaker through miniaturisation, treatment may help protect the existing hair and, in some men, improve the thickness of those miniaturised hairs.
But if the temples or hairline have been slick bald for a long time, medication is far less likely to recreate the hairline that was once there. In these cases, a hair transplant may be required if restoration is the goal.
This is why recognising hair loss early matters.
The more hair you still have, the more there may be to protect.
Before deciding on treatment or jumping straight into a hair transplant, first understand what’s actually happening to your hair.
✈️ If you’re travelling to Istanbul for a hair transplant, who you fly with can make a difference to the experience.
Whenever possible, I recommend flying with Turkish Airlines.
I’ve travelled to Istanbul numerous times and they’ve consistently been an excellent airline - good service, comfortable flights and, importantly, direct flights from Manchester to Istanbul.
When you’re travelling for a procedure, especially on the journey home, comfort and convenience matter.
It’s one of the reasons I recommend them to my clients and use them myself whenever possible.
A hair transplant journey isn’t just about what happens inside the clinic. The whole experience matters from the moment you leave the UK until you arrive back home.

📘 Does wearing a hat actually cause hair loss? 🧢
It’s one of those hair loss myths that refuses to disappear.
For most men, regularly wearing a normal, properly fitting hat isn’t going to cause male pattern hair loss. Your follicles don’t need to “breathe” they receive oxygen and nutrients through their blood supply.
Male pattern hair loss is primarily driven by genetics and the sensitivity of certain hair follicles to DHT.
Very tight headwear that repeatedly pulls or creates excessive friction is a different conversation, but your everyday cap probably isn’t the reason your hairline is receding.
So if you’re noticing changes to your hairline, crown or overall density, look beyond the hat and find out what’s actually causing it.
Sometimes the hat is simply hiding the hair loss, not causing it.

The biggest thing about my Istanbul Group Trips isn’t just where you’re having your hair transplant, it’s that you don’t have to navigate the experience alone.
The journey starts here at Manchester Airport, where I meet the group before we fly.
From that point, I’m with my clients every step of the way. Travelling to Istanbul together, attending the clinic, being there during the consultation and hairline planning, supporting them around the procedure and helping make the whole experience as straightforward as possible.
For a lot of men, travelling abroad for a hair transplant can feel daunting. My group trips are designed to remove as much of that uncertainty as possible.
You’re not simply being referred to a clinic and sent on your way.
We go together.

📘 Hair loss can be progressing before you even realise it.
With male pattern hair loss, affected follicles can gradually miniaturise over successive hair cycles producing hairs that become finer, shorter and provide less coverage.
The important part? You can still have hair in the area.
That’s why early hair loss isn’t always obvious. You might simply notice your scalp becoming more visible under bright light, your hair looking thinner when wet, or certain areas not feeling as dense as they used to.
And you don’t necessarily need to be seeing excessive shedding for this to be happening.
Hair loss isn’t always about how much hair is falling out. Sometimes it’s about the hair that’s still there becoming progressively finer.
🏆 Don’t just take my word for it. Hear it from someone who’s been through the journey.
Choosing to have a hair transplant is a big decision, and for most men the result is only one part of it.
Knowing who to trust, understanding what to expect, having someone there to guide you through the process and knowing you’ve made the right decision all matter too.
This client trusted me to help him navigate his hair transplant journey and in this video he shares his experience in his own words.
And then, of course, there’s the result…
Watch until the end to see how his hair turned out.

📚 Can a vitamin deficiency really cause hair loss?
Yes - in some cases. But that doesn’t mean taking a handful of supplements is going to fix your hair.
Deficiencies in nutrients such as iron, vitamin D, zinc and vitamin B12 can be associated with hair shedding or changes in hair quality. Significant calorie restriction, low protein intake and rapid weight loss can also affect the normal hair growth cycle.
But here’s the important part…
If you’re experiencing progressive thinning around the hairline, temples or crown, don’t automatically assume you’re deficient in something. In men, this pattern is commonly associated with male pattern hair loss.
And taking supplements when you’re not deficient isn’t necessarily beneficial in some cases, excessive supplementation can actually be harmful.
Don’t guess what your hair needs. Understand why you’re losing it first.
