Hey to our new followers
I’m Rachel and I own Rachel’s Boutique Hairdressing - uk based
I’ve had my salon for 12 years and have grown up with it! I opened my first salon at the age of 26, I don’t think that mid 20s girl would quite believe the life journey I’ve been on.
To put it simply I’ve changed, grown as a person for the better. I grew up believing I had to people please to succeed, which gets you so far I suppose..it took me till I opened this salon two years later to realise that I just couldn’t keep saying yes to every client and maxing out my 6 day working weeks.
It led to me feeling overwhelmed & exhausted.
That’s when I knew I had enough clients to work with other stylists & offer them a space within the salon 🩷
My beautiful eldest daughter is disabled and she’s taught me so much, I’m stronger because of her, I’m not the same person because of her, I don’t give up because of her.
I protect my peace at all costs because of her & I’m unbothered because of her.
My beautiful youngest daughter taught me that I could have more balance, which has made me more present at home when I’m not working part time at the salon…my clients are so understanding of just how important that is to me.
This year has been different, I’ve stopped doing weddings and now I’m based only from my salon. After years of absolutely loving weddings & working at amazing venues it wasn’t working for me with my complex home life.
After having our refurb this year I fell in love with the salon again & chose to only work in that environment, it’s just my favourite place!
I’m so incredibly lucky to have such supportive people in my life who want me to succeed & be happy, especially G ❤️

Colour - Trust the process
I met Kimberley at a baby class around 18 months ago, she was so lovely and we instantly clicked…I’ve been cutting her hair ever since but this week was her first time In my chair for colour.
She’s been box dying her hair for some time and wanted a change. I always talk honestly to my clients about the importance of healthy hair and not pushing it to the extreme, that causes any damage and keeps the integrity of their hair.
She wanted to start the process of going lighter and getting rid of some of the warmth in her hair. I had some colour banding to work through, so low and slow developing was key.
I then did a soft root melt at the basin to blend any greys at the roots, which will then achieve a less maintenance grow out.
We’re both so pleased with the results, she’s achieved more dimension, lighter tones and most importantly to me healthy hair.
Phase two - I’m making her wait 7/8 weeks 😅 I can’t wait to see what we can achieve on Kimberley’s next appointment

Tuesday 10am - 7pm
Thursday 9am - 12 noon
Friday 9am - 7pm

Mummy’s Little Helper ❤️
We like to call it Darcie’s Do’s 💇♀️ and she likes to brush hair and say, "That’s better now”🥹🥹
Summer Holidays here we go!! I’ll have my two girlies at home for 6 weeks…so when I’m in the salon over that time, just know that it’ll feel like a day off for me 🤣🙌🏻
I love them sooo much but they won’t be at any of my clients relaxing hair appointments 😅👌🏻
