If you’ve been practising makeup for months but still don’t feel confident, please don’t automatically assume you need more products.

Sometimes you just need someone experienced to look at what you’re doing and show you where you’re going wrong, and how to fix it.

That’s exactly what we love about training at MI Makeup Academy.

We don’t just recreate pretty makeup looks.

We want you to understand the techniques behind them so you can take those skills away and use them on your own clients.

Whether you’re completely new to makeup artistry, already working and want to improve, or you’re ready to turn your passion into a career, there’s a training option for you.

If you’re unsure where to start, send us a DM and we will point you in the right direction 🖤

There’s something about watching a makeup look come together from the very beginning. 🫶🏼

From skin prep to the final details, every step matters.

At MI, we focus on creating makeup artists who understand why they’re doing something, not just following a step by step.

Different faces. Different skin. Different features. Different techniques.

That’s how you become a versatile makeup artist. ✨🖤

Being a good makeup artist isn’t just about having a big kit or knowing how to recreate a pretty makeup look.

It’s about understanding why you’re doing something and knowing how to adapt your technique to the person sitting in front of you.

Different eye shapes need different placement.
Different skin types need different prep.
Different textures need different products.
And sometimes adding MORE makeup is actually making the finish worse.

These are 5 of the mistakes we see most often when artists are trying to take their makeup to the next level.

The good news? They’re all things you can learn, understand and improve with the right guidance.

Because at MI, we don’t want you to just copy a technique.

We want you to understand it.

At MI we offer all different types of learning styles:
- Accredited makeup courses
- 1-1 makeup lessons
- MI Training Days

If you’re new here, or you’ve been following me for a while but don’t really know the person behind MI Makeup Academy, Hi, I’m Molly 🖤

I’m the founder of MI Makeup Academy, a professional makeup artist and educator with 12 years in the beauty industry.

I created MI because I wanted to build the kind of academy I wish I’d had when I was starting out, somewhere you can learn the artistry, but also understand the business, build your confidence and learn what it really takes to create a career in makeup.

Over the years I’ve worked with thousands of clients and brides, collaborated with leading beauty brands, created content and trained hundreds of aspiring makeup artists.

And that experience is what I bring into every training day.

I don’t just want to teach you how to recreate a makeup look.

I want to teach you how to think like a makeup artist. How to work with different faces, skin types and clients. How to refine your technique. How to create content. How to build your brand. And ultimately, how to turn your skills into something that can become a career.

So if you’ve been thinking about training in makeup, consider this your little introduction to the person behind MI ✨

Maybe your next chapter starts here…

DM us and we’ll help you find the right course for you. 🖤
