What is a skin tag?

Skin tags are small, soft, harmless growths that often develop in areas where the skin rubs, including the neck, underarms, underneath the breasts and around the bra line.
Although they are usually harmless, they can catch on clothing or jewellery and may affect your confidence.

We offer consultations to assess suitable blemishes and discuss the safest treatment option for you. We will always refer you for medical assessment if there is any uncertainty.

A recent reminder of why you should never ignore a worrying or changing skin lesion.

Fiona recently used our Map My Mole service for a client. The scan allowed detailed images to be reviewed by Dr Toby Nelson, Consultant Dermatologist, who advised the client to contact their GP for an urgent referral due to concerns about a possible basal cell carcinoma (BCC).

Thankfully, the concern was identified and the client is now receiving the appropriate medical care.

Map My Mole does not replace an examination by your GP or provide a confirmed diagnosis, but it enables images to be reviewed by a Consultant Dermatologist who can advise on the appropriate next steps.
