At 16, I became her mum… and now my little girl is 18. 🥹🤍
I honestly don’t know where the years have gone. It feels like I blinked and she became this beautiful young woman I couldn’t be prouder of. In so many ways, I feel like we grew up together. 🤍
Her turning 18 has made me reflect on our journey and how my business began.
I’m often asked how I got into hair extensions. After having my daughter at 16, I went on to study Media at university while raising her. I realised I did NOT want a 9-5 regime.
While there, a friend asked me to help with her weave — such a small moment, but one that completely changed my path.
I found a passion for hair extensions and realised I could build a career doing something I loved while having the flexibility to work around being a mum. That passion became the business I have today, and all these years later, I still absolutely LOVE what I do. ✨
My daughter has grown up alongside my business and has always been one of my biggest reasons to work hard and keep going. Watching her turn 18 feels like such a full-circle moment. 🥹
To any young mums reading this: having a baby young does NOT mean giving up on your dreams. You can still study, build a career, start a business and create a life you’re proud of. 🫶🏼
