π¨ WELLNESS WORKS COMMUNITY HUB CIC β YOUR COMMUNITY, YOUR HUB π¨
Many people have asked what Wellness Works Community Hub CIC is and why I'm working so hard to make it happen, so I wanted to explain exactly what we're hoping to create and, most importantly, ask for your feedback.
Wellness Works is not just another community centre. It is a community hub designed to bring people together, reduce isolation and loneliness, improve wellbeing, and provide support, opportunities and activities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
β
Our CIC is already registered with Companies House
β
Our bank account is in place
β
Policies and procedures are ready
β
We are simply looking for suitable premises to make it a reality
The hub would include:
β Community CafΓ©
A welcoming space where people can meet, socialise, access information and support, and simply feel part of their community.
𧩠Sensory Room & Play Space
For children and adults who may benefit from a calmer environment, including those with autism, ADHD, anxiety, sensory needs, dementia and other additional needs.
π¨ Arts & Crafts Area
Available for people to use, helping with creativity, confidence building, reducing stress, improving mental wellbeing and encouraging social interaction.
π Honesty Library
Giving everyone access to books and learning opportunities regardless of income.
πͺ Health & Wellbeing Activities
Including:
β’ Chair exercise classes
β’ Gentle exercise sessions
β’ Yoga
β’ Pilates
β’ Meditation
β’ Sound baths
β’ Reiki and holistic wellbeing sessions
These activities can help improve physical health, mobility, confidence, mental wellbeing and reduce social isolation.
π©βπ§ Parents & Carers Support
For families caring for children with ADHD, autism, sensory needs or challenging behaviours. A place where parents can meet others who understand, access support, share experiences and feel less alone.
π΅ Older People's Activities
Social groups, coffee mornings, gentle exercise, crafts, games and intergenerational activities to help tackle loneliness and keep people active and connected.
π§βπ€βπ§ Support Groups
For anyone experiencing:
β’ Mental health challenges
β’ Loneliness and isolation
β’ Financial difficulties
β’ Bereavement
β’ Disability
β’ Addiction recovery
β’ Caring responsibilities
Sometimes people simply need somewhere safe to talk and feel heard.
π Training & Workshops
Helping people build confidence, learn new skills, improve employment prospects and gain qualifications where possible.
π¨βπ³ Life Skills Sessions
Including budgeting, cooking, household skills and practical support for people wanting to become more independent.
π§ Teen & Youth Activities
Giving young people a safe place to spend time, learn new skills, build confidence, make positive friendships and develop aspirations for the future. We want local young people to help shape what these activities look like.
π€ Community Partnerships
Wherever possible, we want to work with local businesses, therapists, trainers, activity providers and organisations. If we cannot provide something ourselves, we will signpost and support local businesses by referring people to them.
π Volunteer Led
Nobody is being paid to create this. Wellness Works will be run by volunteers and community-minded people who want to make a difference. We will also rely on local groups and organisations to deliver activities and workshops.
Most importantly...
THIS HUB IS FOR YOU.
We want to know:
β What activities would you like to see?
β What support is missing in our area?
β What would help local families?
β What would teenagers actually want to attend?
β What activities would benefit older people?
β What would make you walk through the door?
Everyone is welcome, regardless of age, disability, background or where they live. Whether you're from Seaham or further afield, you will be included.
We have the vision, the passion and the foundations in place. Now we need the community's ideas and support to help shape something that truly belongs to everyone.
Please comment below with your thoughts, ideas and suggestions. Every piece of feedback helps us build something that people genuinely need. π
We also have a gofund me if anyone can help by donating that would be fantastic, this would help us get premises.

As we are planning on opening a community cafe as part of Wellness Works, ive been looking at coffee. To keep costs low im looking for a good coffee thats affordable and will be enjoyed by all. We will have the cappacinos, the lattes and frappes etc. But we thought we would ask you, bare in mind the picture is just for show!
What coffee would you lile to see served.
One of the reasons i have started with Wellness Works, isaac and raymond my grandsons. Raymond is 4 years old non verbal autistic. I have lived with nuerodivergent children since my son was born. I thought after 30+ years there would be more support for those living through this. There isnt and thats just one of the reasons i started this. Please follow the page to see more reasons behind this group and i believe its important to the community to get this up and running. Please follow my page to keep updated with my other reasons.
Lets see if we can get some interaction in this group.
Right totally off subject but i found this quite funny for some reason. I was asked, what is the most common things found in a junk drawer? So,,im now asking you. Write in the comments ans lets see if we all havw the same things
