⚠️ There is an amazing Solar Eclipse that we will be experiencing in England and Wales later on today.
You can observe today’s
but please Protect Your eyes 👀 from the harmful ☀️ rays
How❓
Never look directly into the sun without protection
Why ❓
Because looking directly into the sun can cause retinal burns. These burns are painless, they do not hurt as they happen, you may not notice vision loss or distortion until hours later.
ℹ️ Ordinary Sunglasses 🕶️
These are a No No and won’t provide adequate protection.
Even the very dark or very expensive ones, do not provide adequate protection for you nor do binoculars telescopes 🔭 or cameras 🎥 unless the equipment has an appropriate, professionally fitted solar filter placed in front of the lens. or with viewers that strictly meet the ISO 12312-2 standard (or carry a valid CE/UKCA mark).
ℹ️ Safe Alternatives
Use indirect viewing techniques such as pinhole projection or watch official online and television broadcasts
🆘 Seek Immediate Help:
Consult an eye-care professional or optometrist promptly if you experience any changes in your vision after an eclipse.

" I have got these brown lump things on my neck - they get caught up on my jewellery - I pulled a couple off - they bled on my blouse - they look horrible - I cant hide them and they seem to be multiplying ..."
Is it just a ?
Cheryl Barton our Lead Nurse regularly sees patients in Clinic Aesthetika Clinic with concerns around skin changes.
Cheryls first piece of advice is this
⬇️
" If you have any changes to your skin, please do something about it and do not ignore it in the hope it will just go away, get someone who is medically qualified with an expertise in skin to look at it".
The images here are of a patient who attended in clinic for advice on her lesions - a lesion is the name we give to any change in skin and a lesion does not necessarily mean a cancer.
Once you attend In Clinic we will take a detailed medical history from you, we want to know what medicines you are taking and what skin related issues you have experienced in the past. YES we will ask you lots of questions, there is paperwork too, so please bring your glasses if you use them and you willl be with us for about an hour.
During that hour we will want to look and feel these lesions, we will take photographs and perform a dermoscopy. Once we have our diagnosis we can then offer you the options available and discuss these with you. One option could be to leave them alone and review again at a later date.
After the Consultation, this lady opted for removal.
We gave her some time to think through the procedure. Cheryl says "Be mindful all procedures and interventions have an element of risk, there are side effects and there is a cost for removal and there is no guarantee that she wont develop more of these in the future'.
These were diagnosed as acrochordons. A simple non malignant skin lesions, often but not always darker in colour, harmless and commonly referred to as . They tend to develop in skin creases such as around the neck, arm pits, groins and breast folds.
This lovely lady came back to Clinic after two weeks for removal and the after images were taken at three months after the procedure and are posted with her consent.
If you want more information about and how we can remove them, then please do get in touch and call Clinic for a Consultation with Doctor or Nurse.
