Terms & Conditions
Definitions
The Client: The recipient of the service and name listed on corresponding emails. Makeup Artist: Samuel C Degnan
The Agreement: The contract that exists between the client and the makeup artist for the agreed fee (proof is corresponding email)
The fee: The amount payable by the client to the makeup artist for the services listed above
The event: Relates in pr
inciple to the date whereby the event (i.e the wedding or photoshoot) takes place
The party. Additional members of wedding or shoot/collaboration
Securing the booking of the event
The booking of the event is only reserved once the client has paid a non-refundable deposit to the makeup artist. The deposit is £100 - this is required to secure the event. If the event is secured before the hair/makeup trial the deposit is split into two payments: an initial deposit of £50 at the time of booking and £50 after the trial
Arranging a trial does not reserve the makeup artist’s services for the event
Events on Friday, Saturday or Sunday are subject to a £350 on the day minimum spend, excluding travel costs (price will vary depending on job catagory)
Payment
Payments can be made in cash or via bank transfer, cheques will not be accepted
The non-refundable deposit of £100 paid by the client is taken off the fee
The trial is paid for at the time of trial
The fee is to be paid in full by the client one month (28 days) before the event
Failure to pay the fee within the stated time will result in the event being cancelled by the makeup artist
Responsibility of the client
The client shall inform the makeup artist of any issues that may affect the use of any equipment or products. This includes but is not limited to sensitivities, allergies and medical conditions. The makeup artist cannot be held liable for any losses or damage that is incurred due to the client’s failure to inform the artist of any known condition
The makeup artist reserves the right to refuse service to the client or members the party for, but not limited to, abusive and threatening behaviour
Cancellations
At any point the client can cancel the event by informing the makeup artist in writing
The makeup artist will be under no obligation to refund any money paid up until point of cancellation, however the client will not be liable for any further payments
The client can cancel a trial at any point, however a trial cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged for at the agreed rate
Cancellations by the makeup artist due to circumstances including, but not limited to, problems rendering the performance of their obligations and where no other suitable alternative can be given -will result in a refund to the client. No further compensation will be offered
If the booking is directly affected by circumstances beyond the control of the makeup artist every possible endeavor to rectify such situations will be made, however no compensation will be offered on the makeup artist's part. The client is strongly advised to take out wedding insurance to cover against such situations
Exclusivity
Exclusivity is not guaranteed for the whole day of the event, therefore timings will be seriously considered when agreeing to any booking
It is unlikely that there will be another event on the day; and any second event undertaken by the makeup artist will not affect the first event
An exclusivity fee can be arranged if preferred
Photography
The client agrees that the makeup artist may use any photography for publicity purposes which include but are not limited to the makeup artist's website and social media pages
Travel Expenses
The client will cover any necessary travel expenses of the makeup artist as agreed at time of booking
This is to include, should it be required, congestion charging and parking charges My background in fine art started in South Yorkshire. Always having an interest in art and the human form this led me to take my diploma in media and theatrical make-up. Specializing is fashion, editorial and body art. Self expression through the media of makeup plays a huge role in my life and I've always beleaved makeup creates characters and evokes an emotional response
. Currently working freelance on fashion events and weddings etc across the south Yorkshire area and collaborating with photographers, models and other Make-up artists to create the perfect shot. Qualified in air base makeup, trained in hair artistry and professionally trained in wedding and prom make-up. I have a lot of projects that are currently in the works but I'm always willing to take on new and exciting things! I currently do makeup for :
