💖 UPDATE REGARDING TIME OFF 💖

The short version: Currently I can confirm with certainty that I will be cancelling all appointments in June and I will update you here or contact you directly when I am ready to start coming back to work. It will likely be a phased return with shorter days and possibly a limited service when I do return but that will be confirmed sooner to the time.

And the long version for those who would like to know: As many of you are already aware, I have spent the last 4 weeks on medical leave from work. The exciting news is that IM PREGNANT! My partner and I are absolutely over the moon and so excited for what’s to come!

However, at 6 weeks I developed a condition called Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a very extreme and debilitating pregnancy sickness. Without going into all the gory details; I haven’t been able to do anything unassisted during my time off, I haven’t left the house other than for medical appointments, I’ve been hospitalised for dehydration, lost weight and been generally exhausted for weeks.

I have an amazing GP who has experienced this herself and is helping guide me through the process with weekly check-in and I have finally found a medication combination that seems to be working for me. Although, there is no ‘cure’ and my days/weeks are still very up and down and unpredictable.

Due to this and the fact that I am still recovering from the past few weeks, my GP and I have agreed it would be best for me to continue to rest and recuperate for another 6 weeks. My hopes are that once I have progressed further into the pregnancy the condition may settle enough for me to come back to work but this doesn’t happen for everyone with HG so it is very much a waiting game.

I miss you all so much and feel terrible for letting everyone down, I know summer is such a lovely time to treat yourself and get your nails done for holidays and all those lovely days out. I am truly sorry for any inconvenience it has caused. But having HG does put myself and the little one at risk and right now I must think about my little growing family.

As for the troublemaker, they are developing happy and healthy at the moment, and it was lovely to finally meet them at our first scan and see them bobbing around!

Thank you so much for all of your lovely messages while I have been off, it has been such a relief to be reminded of what amazing, kind, patient clients I have and I feel truly blessed to have your support.
