AI IS NOW IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY?!

I am fed up of comparing real life to these AI images! From poreless skin and perfectly symmetrical features to impossibly flawless makeup, we’re seeing more and more images online that have been digitally created or enhanced beyond what is realistically achievable.

I am seeing more & more clients that are showing me AI photos & hearing “I love how flawless this is” 🫣
These images are being saved on Pinterest, shared across Instagram and used as inspiration for real-life appointments😳
But when the expectation is based on an image that doesn’t reflect real skin or a real face, it can be difficult to achieve that same result in reality!

Real skin has texture. Real faces have natural asymmetry. And real makeup looks different on everyone.

Even with the best products, techniques and preparation, makeup cannot completely erase pores or make every feature perfectly symmetrical - and it shouldn’t have to!

As a makeup artist, I believe my job is to help you feel confident in your own features, not make you feel like you need to look like an AI-generated version of yourself 🤍

AI images can be useful for inspiration, but it’s important to recognise the difference between a digitally created image and a realistic makeup result👀
