Look who came to see me today šŸ‘øšŸ¼

My best friend and the actual Miss Great Britain was in for her pre handover lymphatic drainage. Alice lives with lipoedema and regular treatment makes such a difference, but with her crazy schedule this year we just don’t get to see her enough!

Next Friday she hands over her crown and I couldn’t be prouder of everything she’s done this year. Good luck my darling, you’ve been the most incredible queen šŸ‘‘

Selfishly I can’t wait for handover day because I can’t wait to see THE dress and I finally get to see you more šŸ˜‚

Thank you for coming in as always

ITS SURGERY SEASON šŸ”Ŗ

October marks the start of surgery season and I am SO excited.

Every time you come in it’s like looking at a brand new body, and what I do is so much more than the lymphatic drainage you see all over instagram. This is POST SURGERY MLD. Not Brazilian lymphatic drainage. This is specialised and not everyone trained in MLD/Lymphatic drainage is qualified to carry out this advanced level of care!

I go from being your therapist to helping you get dressed and undressed, advising on your compression and answering all of questions and hopefully putting you at ease about your recovery.

After surgery I am here for YOU and you are my priority šŸ¤

I specialise in advanced post op care. I understand every stage of healing, I watch live surgery, and I know exactly what your body has been through and the trauma that comes with it.

I’ve seen every shape and size of body and every one of them is welcome here šŸ¤

I’ve seen it all first hand. Fibrosis, seromas, infections, poorly fitted compression, no compression at all and complications. Nothing shocks me and I know how to support you through it.

It also helps that I’ve had surgery myself. I know you’re exhausted. I know you’re constipated. I’ve been there!! šŸ˜…

Post op bookings are usually twice a week, but I’ll create a bespoke package just for you depending on how many procedures you’re having, whether you’re flying home after surgery and what your recovery needs.

If you’ve got surgery booked this season, drop me a message and let’s get your aftercare sorted.

So many of my clients are worried about their scars after surgery and what they can do to have minimal scaring.

If you want your incision to look like a paper cut at week 5.
My only words for you would be…you guessed it... MLD.
But PLEASE do your research as not every lymphatic drainage therapist can see post op clients.

This incredible surgery was carried abut by James McDiarmid Wood MediSpa a place quite close to my heart as many of you know James has done surgery for me recently and I cant recommend him and his staff enough!

If you are looking for a post surgery specialist please make contact with me!

Something people don’t talk about enough… SWELLING!!

Post surgical swelling is very unpredictable. After surgery, the lymphatic vessels in the treated area are disrupted and tissue is compromised. At the same time, the body is busy regrowing new lymphatic pathways, a process called lymphangiogenesis, while the tissue itself is still reconnecting and repairing underneath the scar. With lack of movement, general anaesthetic, and likely a lack of good nutrition and hydration, you get days where the swelling is barely there and days where it’s really pronounced. This was one of those really swollen days.

And look what happened in under an hour.

Post operative MLD is a really gentle skin stretch, breath work…. and knowledge! By gently directing fluid away from the scar itself, it takes pressure off the healing tissue and supports the wound healing process while those new pathways are still forming. At no point should machines or wooden tools be used.

Swelling like this is so normal at 8 week. It just means the lymphatic system needs a little help moving things along, and that’s exactly what I’m here for.

If you are having plastic surgery, please get in contact and we can discuss a bespoke plan for your surgery as it is not one size fits all!

WHY JUST ā€œPUMPING YOUR LYMPH NODESā€ IS NOT ENOUGH 🚫

You’ve seen the videos. The ā€œsecret 6ā€ nodes. The ā€œspecific 7.ā€ The influencers showing you exactly where to press for instant lymphatic drainage. ✨

It’s not going to do you any harm, but is it actually doing much if you’re not doing the other work to get the fluid there in the first place? Honestly? Not really. It is not the key to sorting your lymphatic issues like many are suggesting.

Yes, pumping your lymph nodes helps clear what’s already sitting in them. But…

It doesn’t make your body call for more fluid to move. So without anything else, it’s actually not really doing anything.

Your lymph doesn’t just appear at the nodes… Well, it sort of does as breathing helps but… it can need a little extra help to be directed there. Through your vessels, through your tissues, along specific pathways. And that requires actual work from a trained lymphatic therapist, not just someone you have seen online!

This work will never feel ā€œjustā€ like a massage to me... šŸ’œ

Every treatment is tailored to the person in front of me, so whether we’re focusing on fluid retention, bloating, recovery or simply helping the body feel more balanced again, everything is always specific to your individual needs.

I truly am so grateful for every client who trusts me with their care ✨

"No awkwardness at all, just super genuine and reassuring."

Honestly, that's one of the nicest compliments I could receive!

I want every client who walks through my door to feel comfortable, supported, and completely at ease. The treatment is important, but so is the experience you have while you're here.

Thank you, Hannah, for trusting me and taking the time to leave such a lovely review. It truly means so much ✨
