There was plenty to enjoy at Martins House with a cheese and wine afternoon! 🧀🥂

Our wonderful residents tucked into a great selection of Red Leicester, Cheddar, Brie, Stilton and Wensleydale, with plenty of crackers and biscuits to go alongside. There was also a choice of red, white or rosé wine, so everyone could pick their favourite.

It was a lovely chance to sit back, have a chat and enjoy some tasty treats together. Cheers to that! 💜

Fran, Joyce and Pat enjoyed a lovely walk from Martins House, making the most of the sunshine and some fresh air 🌳☀️

They stopped to watch the children playing in the park, which brought back plenty of smiles and sparked a few lovely conversations. Sometimes it is the simple things that make an outing special 😊

It was a lovely way to spend some time outdoors together, and we hope there are plenty more sunny walks to come 💜

Last week, World Photography Day gave our wonderful residents the perfect excuse to get out into the garden with an instant camera here at Martins House 📸

There was plenty to spot, but the flowers in our communal garden were definitely the stars of the show. Our residents enjoyed choosing their favourite blooms and capturing all those lovely colours 🌷

Now comes the hard part, waiting to see how the photos turned out! We cannot wait to see the finished pictures and discover everyone’s creative flair 💜

Recently, we celebrated Afternoon Tea Week at Martins House ! ☕️🍰

Our wonderful residents enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with freshly baked scones, jam, mini cakes and plenty of tea and coffee. There was lots of chatting around the table as everyone tucked in and enjoyed the treats 💜

With the temperature rising outside, our wonderful residents at Martins House stayed cool indoors while still enjoying a little gardening🌿🌼

They spent some time pot planting flowers for the garden, with Brian choosing a beautiful yellow flowering plant. Just 30 minutes later, we spotted a robin sitting underneath it in the shade! 🐦

Brian put it perfectly: “It’s so important to stop from time to time and notice nature all around us.” 💜

It has been a very cake filled day at Martins House ! 🧁

This morning, our wonderful residents got busy making chocolate chip cupcakes, blending all the ingredients together and filling the cake cases ready for the oven. Then this afternoon, it was time for a chocolate fudge cake, which had the whole home smelling delicious! 🍫

Now there is only one thing left to do... wait for the cake to cool and enjoy a slice with a nice cup of tea ☕️💜

We had a lovely National Relaxation Day at Martins House with an afternoon of pampering and a bit of well deserved self care💅✨

Our wonderful residents enjoyed mini facials, with cleansing, toning, exfoliating and moisturising, while Jean and Carol opted for some hand and nail pampering instead. It was a lovely chance to sit back, enjoy some pampering and have a good chat along the way.

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Ollie and Sarah to Martins House for a lovely befriender visit 💜

There was plenty to get involved with, from chats and colouring to word searches and hidden object activities. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the time together and getting stuck into the activities.

Thank you both for spending some time with our residents. We really enjoyed having you with us and look forward to seeing you again soon 😊

What a brilliant afternoon we had at our Summer Fête! ☀️🌸

May Blossom, Vintage Songbird , kept everyone entertained in the garden with a wonderful mix of 60s, 70s and 80s favourites. There was plenty going on too, with a tombola, raffle, arts and crafts stall and, of course, our fabulous cake stall. Our residents and visitors enjoyed settling down with a slice of cake and a cup of tea or coffee while enjoying the afternoon together 🍰☕

The children had plenty to keep them busy too, with bat and ball, hook a duck, tin can alley, target throw and even a sandpit with buckets and spades. We were also celebrating Roy’s birthday, and he enjoyed a pint of Guinness in the garden with his family 🍻🎂

A huge thank you to all the families, staff and friends of Martins House who came along and helped make the fête such a success, as well as everyone who donated prizes and goodies for our tombola and raffle. Together, we raised just over £250, which will go straight towards our residents’ activity fund. Thank you for helping us make it such a special day! 💜
