As beauty professionals, it's important that we don't just follow industry changes—we understand why they're happening.
You may have seen posts about the UK's upcoming changes to nail gel products, particularly regarding TPO (Trimethylbenzoyl Diphenylphosphine Oxide).
Here's what every nail technician should know:
✨ The changes are about safety, not because gel nails are "unsafe".
TPO has been reclassified, meaning manufacturers are now required to reformulate products to meet the latest UK regulations. This is a precautionary step to further improve consumer and technician safety.
As a professional, your responsibilities include: 💅 Using professional, reputable brands. 💅 Following the manufacturer's instructions. 💅 Preventing uncured gel from touching the skin. 💅 Carrying out thorough consultations and checking for allergies. 💅 Continuing your education as industry regulations evolve.

✨ WE ARE NOW TAKING NEW AP LEARNERS FOR SEPTEMBER ✨
Glowing In Beauty Academy is proud to offer Alternative Provision (AP) placements for learners across Cheshire and Stoke-on-Trent who may benefit from a smaller, more supportive learning environment.
We work with young people, including learners with EHCPs and additional needs, helping them gain confidence, independence, practical life skills, and recognised beauty qualifications within a calm and inclusive setting.
Our training is:
💖 Hands-on and practical
💖 Delivered in small groups
💖 Adapted to individual learner needs
💖 Focused on confidence building and progression
💖 Designed to support learners who may struggle in mainstream education settings
We are passionate about creating opportunities and supporting every learner to achieve their full potential while preparing for future careers within the beauty industry.
