Skincare advice that makes me cringe as a Level 4 Skin Specialist š¬
Skincare doesnāt need to be complicated, but thereās a LOT of outdated advice still doing the rounds.
Your skin deserves more than random hacks and a one size fits āallā approach.
Which one have you been guilty of? š

INGREDIENTS 101 : Retinoids
Welcome back to my Ingredients 101 mini series šš¼
Every Thursday Iām breaking down a different skincare ingredient, what it actually does, who itās best for and where it fits into your routine. No complicated skincare science, just the bits you actually need to know.
This week⦠Retinoids
One of the most researched ingredients when it comes to skin ageing, retinoids help speed up cell turnover, support collagen production and improve everything from fine lines and texture to breakouts and pigmentation.
But retinol, retinal and retinoic acid are NOT all the same and stronger doesnāt always mean better for your skin.

The microneedling downtime nobody shows you š
I think one of the biggest things that puts people off microneedling is the fear of walking around with a bright red face for days afterwards š
Yes, immediately after treatment you can expect redness, warmth and that slightly sunburnt feeling.
But swipe to see what the skin can look like just 24 hours later ā”ļø
For most people, the redness settles pretty quickly and the downtime is much less dramatic than you might think.
A little downtime for a treatment that gets your skin working harder for you? Worth it šš¼
Save this if microneedling has been on your radar.

āJust another home studioā
Meanwhile me obsessing over:
the lighting
the scents
the heated bed
the tiny details
the client experience
making advanced skin treatments feel calm instead of intimidating
Because I never wanted this space to feel like you were ājust coming to an appointmentā. I wanted it to feel like an experience
POV: you want skin results⦠but donāt want to feel like youāre lying in a hospital room
Iāll never be the super cold, overly clinical treatment room.
You can have advanced treatments AND still feel cosy, relaxed and comfortable at the same time.
Dim lighting, heated bed, calming music, soft blankets⦠but with the same level of professionalism, hygiene and safety throughout every treatment.
Because results-led skin treatments donāt have to feel intimidating š¤

Consistency hallelujah šš¼
My clients know that Iām a sucker for keeping things simple when it comes to skincare. Hydrating cleanser and moisturiser (thatās suitable for your skin type) Then we look at combing homecare and treatments to target your concerns.
This might change as you go through the journey. We may look at barrier repair , then exfoliation then restoration. The journey is different for everyone ā¤ļø
Skin treatments are not about one appointment
theyāre about structure, consistency and choosing the right actives for the skin
8 weeks of treatments and homecare to calm inflammation and support the barrier
