SO… WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS DURING A BRAZILIAN WAX? 👀

How much does it hurt?
Do the knickers actually have to come off?

Who the hell do you trust to remove the hair from your lady bits? 😂

If your only knowledge of waxing comes from The 40-Year-Old Virgin, allow me to reassure you.

It really isn’t that bad.

In fact, one of the things I hear ALL the time after a first intimate wax is:

“Was that it? I thought it was going to be so much worse!”

I’ve been waxing for over 20 years, I’ve worked as a professional waxing trainer, and believe me — my aim is smooth skin, not emotional trauma.

So, first Brazilian? Here’s what you actually need to know:

🍑 YES, EVERYTHING MEANS EVERYTHING
A Brazilian removes most or all of the hair from the front and underneath/back, depending on the finish you want. We’ll discuss exactly what you want before we start. Nothing is a surprise.

🌾 GROW IT
Ideally, your hair needs to be around ¼ inch long — roughly the length of a grain of rice. Put the razor down and give me something to work with.

👙 YES, THE KNICKERS COME OFF
But honestly, the awkwardness lasts approximately 30 seconds. You’ll be appropriately covered where possible, and I’ll talk you through everything.

⚡ I’M QUICK
A regular Brazilian/Hollywood appointment can take around 15 minutes. No unnecessarily dragging it out — professional, efficient and done.

😬 DOES IT HURT?
I’m not going to tell you you’ll feel absolutely nothing. Hair is being removed from the root. But for most clients, the anticipation is far worse than the actual wax — and regular waxing generally becomes much easier.

👖 LEAVE THE SKINNY JEANS AT HOME
Loose, comfortable clothes afterwards. Freshly waxed skin does not need to spend the journey home arguing with tight denim.

🔥 A LITTLE REDNESS CAN BE NORMAL
Temporary redness, warmth or tenderness can happen afterwards. Treat the area gently and follow your aftercare advice.

🧴 EXFOLIATION IS YOUR FRIEND — BUT NOT STRAIGHT AWAY
Give freshly waxed skin time to settle, then introduce gentle exfoliation after a few days to help prevent ingrown hairs.

🍑 BE NICE TO YOUR PEACH
For the first 24–48 hours, avoid anything likely to irritate the area — excessive heat, heavy sweating, fragranced products and friction.

📅 THEN COME BACK
Most regular clients return around every 4–6 weeks. Get into a routine and you’ll wonder why you spent so many years shaving.

And finally…

Choose your intimate waxer wisely.

This is not the moment for your mate to announce she’s bought a waxing kit and wants to “have a go.” 😂

You want someone experienced, professional, quick and completely unfazed by the fact that yes, she’s going to see your bits.
