A little personal update ❤️

Over the past 4½ years, I’ve been living with a chronic illness called Painful Bladder Syndrome. It came completely out of the blue and was something I never expected to have to deal with. Unfortunately, as time has gone on, it has progressively become worse.

Living with chronic pain on a daily basis is exhausting, debilitating and, at times, extremely difficult. For a long time, I ignored the warning signs and simply did what I’ve always done — carried on.

I’ve worked since I was 14 and have always pushed myself to work hard, fit in as many clients as possible and make sure I’m there for everyone. To get through the long hours and keep functioning, I’ve relied on medication and sleep aids to help me manage the pain and exhaustion.

Eventually, I reached a point where I simply couldn’t keep going. I completely burnt myself out and it forced me to take some time off.

I’ve spent a long time trying to sugar-coat things, mask the pain and convince myself that I could just push through. But the reality is, this is something I’m going to have to learn to live with and manage for the rest of my life. It has changed my life in more ways than I can explain.

There are days when I feel dizzy, nauseous, completely exhausted and almost like a zombie. Trying to work through those feelings on a daily basis means I simply cannot always be the best version of myself — and I’ve had to accept that something needs to change.

So, for the first time, I need to put myself and my health first.

This means making some changes to my working hours and changing my usual day off. I need to allow myself time for appointments, treatment and, most importantly, time to properly manage my condition rather than constantly pushing myself beyond my limits.

I know these changes won’t suit everyone, and I completely understand that. I’ve always tried my absolute best to accommodate as many of you as possible, and I’m incredibly grateful for every single client who has supported me throughout the years.

The relationships I’ve built with so many of you mean more to me than you probably realise. Some of you have been coming to me for years and have become so much more than clients — you’ve genuinely become friends. ❤️

The girls have also been absolutely amazing and so supportive throughout all of this. They’ll do everything they can to help accommodate appointments where possible, and I honestly feel so lucky to have them.

I’ll also be allowing a little more time for appointments, which unfortunately means there will be fewer appointments available overall.

I completely understand that, for some of you, my new hours may no longer work and you may need to find another hairdresser,As difficult as that would be.

All I ask from you during this transition is a little patience, understanding and kindness while I navigate this new reality.

I still absolutely love what I do. I just need to learn to do it in a way that allows me to look after myself too.

Every other Saturday 9-3

Recently we’ve seen an increase in missed appointments and last-minute cancellations, and we’d like to kindly remind everyone how much this affects our small business.

Every appointment is reserved especially for you. When someone doesn’t turn up or cancels at the last minute, it’s not just an empty chair—it means we’ve lost valuable income, our stylists lose earnings, and another client has missed the opportunity to book that appointment.

We send appointment text reminders to every client, so we’re confident everyone has plenty of notice. If you receive a reminder and can’t make your appointment, please just let us know as soon as possible. A quick phone call or message gives us the chance to offer your appointment to someone else.

We completely understand that genuine emergencies happen, and we’ll always be as understanding as we can. However, simply not turning up without letting us know is extremely disappointing and has a real financial impact on our business.

We value every single one of our clients and appreciate those who respect our time just as we respect yours. We hope everyone understands why we take missed appointments so seriously.
