As members of the government taskforce, the NHBF, along with invited industry businesses, trade bodies and medical experts, is currently reviewing the draft government guidelines for hair and beauty salons, and barbershops to return safely to work.

We do not yet know when the final guidelines will be published and are currently for England only.

We’ve been in contact with Scottish and Welsh governments. They haven’t published anything yet but as soon as information for Scotland, Wales and N Ireland is available we’ll publish it.

Yay I completed the BARBICIDE Certification Exam.

Good evening. Now with non-essential retail being re-opened on the 15th June, I’m hoping hairdressers/barbers will be allowed to do the same on 4th July, so as soon as the government confirms this date, I will start taking bookings for appointments. I’m taking this approach rather than taking bookings straight away, then having to rearrange should the government put the dates back. We are starting to put safety and social distancing measures in place and would like to send you these with new prices.
