It’s been years since I’ve done one of these, so I should probably introduce myself before Instagram decides I’m simply a pair of hands attached to an airbrush. 😏
I’m Aleksandra.
Makeup artist, airbrush obsessive, bodyworker, professional holder of faces and nervous systems too.
I’ve worked with brides for many years and with airbrush for over a decade, although these days my working world stretches beyond makeup.
I also work through touch, specialising in Kobido, Buccal and Lomi Lokahi, and the more I’ve moved between these two worlds, the more I’ve realised they were never really separate in the first place.
People settle around me.
I used to think that was simply part of being experienced with brides. You learn how to read a room, when to talk, when to quietly carry on, when someone needs distracting and when she needs thirty seconds where nobody asks her another bloody question. 😂
Bodywork gave me a different language for something I’d been doing instinctively for years. Wedding mornings carry a lot of emotion, even the happiest ones, and sometimes what a bride needs while I’m working is simply a little less noise, a slower pace, a chance to breathe and come back to herself.
I’ve started to think of that as my quiet superpower. Not removing the nerves or trying to make the morning perfectly calm, because where would be the fun in that, but creating a little pocket of steadiness inside everything that’s happening around us.
Funny enough, whether I’m holding an airbrush or working with my hands in the treatment room, that part of me seems to come to work too.
The airbrush, beautiful skin and all the tiny details still matter enormously to me, of course. I’m a makeup artist; I’m allowed to be slightly ridiculous about a complexion. But the woman underneath it has become even more interesting to me.
So my work these days lives somewhere between beauty and touch, artistry and nervous-system regulation, wedding mornings and quiet treatment rooms. Different spaces, different reasons for coming to see me, but somehow the same woman keeps showing up underneath it all.
And so do I.

It was a hot day 🥵. Very hot.
The whole morning had that slightly infectious energy where one person starts laughing and suddenly everyone is laughing, then five minutes later someone gets emotional and sets everybody off again 🥹
With the heat already building and a whole wedding day still ahead, I kept her skin fresh and luminous, brought warm definition around those gorgeous green eyes and let the rest stay soft and feminine.
Hot, loud, happy and full of tears for all the right reasons. Pretty good way to start a wedding day, really 😊
I kept the makeup soft, fresh and very easy to wear, with enough definition around her eyes to bring out that gorgeous blue and gentle warmth through the rest of her face. Her skin was airbrushed, which gave me exactly the finish I wanted for her: light, refined and incredibly smooth, while still feeling completely natural when you look at her.
And then she left my chair and the day carried on around her. There were hugs, photographs, champagne, happy tears, people pulling her in every direction and hours of celebrating ahead. Her makeup was already ready for all of it.
Exactly as wedding makeup should be, because she had far better things to be thinking about that day.

Summer has a way of softening everything it touches. Time lingers a little longer, the air carries the scent of wild grasses and blooming gardens, and even silence feels gentler, as if the whole world has quietly agreed to witness a moment that will never exist in quite the same way again.
I have always believed that bridal beauty should feel like that. It should never compete with the woman wearing it, but become part of the story she will remember years from now, when photographs have faded into treasured memories and she no longer recalls every detail of the day, only how deeply, peacefully and completely herself she felt.
Can we talk about the fact that half updos are absolutely everywhere this year?
You spend months growing your hair, looking after it. Then wedding morning arrives and suddenly the thought of pinning every single strand up feels a little tragic.
A half updo gives you the best of both worlds.
You still get to see your hair. You still get that softness around your face and those beautiful lengths in your photos. Yet it stays out of your face when you're crying through your vows, hugging 73 relatives and attempting to eat a canapė.
It's romantic without trying too hard.
A little polished. A little undone. A little "I woke up looking like this" even though we both know that's nonsense 😉
Every year bridal trends me and go, but this one has serious staying power.
The Council of Red Light Therapy has assembled.
Some women end their Friday night with cocktails.
Some with Netflix.
I'm sitting here glowing red like an intergalactic villain, preparing for tomorrow's wedding, after today's and trials and trying to convince my skin that we're still in our thirties.
Honestly, I think we're both doing our best.😏
One hot, May day... In the gorgeous Hogharts Manor... I had an hour to get Danielle ready for her wedding day. Minimal makeup but huge effect.

I hear those sentences a lot actually.
Especially from women who normally just wear mascara, lip balm, maybe a bit of concealer and that’s it.
And I'm asking:“What feels too made up for you?”
Because for one bride it’s heavy skin. For another it’s strip lashes. Sometimes it’s simply looking too different from how their partner sees them every day.
That’s why I love working with airbrush. The skin stays light and fresh looking, but still lasts properly throughout the whole day. You still look like yourself when somebody is standing two inches from your face talking to you.
Honestly, the goal isn’t “more makeup” for pictures,
it’s sitting in front of the mirror and feeling comfortable in your own skin.
