“Why won’t my brows look exactly like my friend’s?”

This is one of the most common questions I get — and it’s so important to understand before booking semi-permanent brows.

The truth is…
brows are NOT one-size-fits-all.

Even if you love someone else’s result, your final healed outcome will always be tailored to YOU — and here’s why:

🌿Your bone structure matters
Your brow bone can be flat, prominent, or more arched — this completely changes how the shape sits on your face. What looks soft and lifted on one person can look too heavy or uneven on another.

🌱 Your skin type changes everything
Oily skin, dry skin, combination… each one holds pigment differently.
– Oily skin → softer, more diffused healed result
– Dry/normal skin → more defined finish

🍀Pores & skin texture
Visible pores vs porcelain skin will affect how “pixelated” or “misty” the powder effect looks once healed.

🌿 Skin undertone
Warm, cool, neutral — this determines how pigment heals in your skin. The same pigment can heal slightly differently on each person.

🌱 Fitzpatrick scale (your skin tone)
Your natural skin tone affects pigment visibility, retention, and how soft or bold the final result appears.

🍀 Age & skin maturity
More mature skin is thinner and more delicate — which means we adjust technique for a softer, more natural finish.

Due to an increasing number of no-shows, last-minute cancellations, and appointments not being cancelled online, I need to gently but firmly update my booking policy at The Beauty Dash York.
I work strictly by appointment only and often back-to-back with clients throughout the day.
When someone does not attend or communicate, that time cannot be filled at the last minute — even though many clients are waiting for availability.
This policy also applies to complimentary brow evaluation appointments. Even though these consultations are free of charge, they are still dedicated time reserved especially for you.
When an appointment is missed, three people are affected:
• You — as your treatment time is lost
• Clients on the waiting list who would have loved that space
• Myself and my small business, as that reserved time becomes lost income
Repeated no-shows or lack of communication will unfortunately result in being unable to book future appointments with me. This is not about punishment — it’s about protecting fairness, respect, and the smooth running of my diary for everyone.
I truly appreciate every client who respects the time and care that goes into each appointment 🤍
