We’ve spent decades trying to kill them. Why? 🌼

And when did we decide dandelions were a problem?

Because they’re actually bloody useful.

🌼 The flowers provide food for bees and other pollinators.

🐦 The seeds provide food for birds.

🐛 The leaves feed moth caterpillars and other insects.

🥗 You can eat the leaves, flowers and roots.

🌿 The root contains inulin, a prebiotic fibre.

💧 Dandelion has been used traditionally for digestion and as a diuretic.

And then there’s the history.

By the early 1900s, people were already using chemical treatments to get rid of dandelions and plantain from lawns.

Then in the 1940s, selective herbicides such as 2,4-D made it possible to kill broad-leaved plants while leaving the grass.

And that’s when the modern perfect lawn really took off.

Grass. No w**ds. No wildflowers. Just grass.

Now we’re being encouraged to leave more of those plants because we understand how important they are for biodiversity.

Makes you wonder what else we’ve decided is a w**d simply because we don’t like the look of it.

I’m covering loads of this in my upcoming workshops, including wild plants, their uses and the history we’ve forgotten.

🌿 Upcoming workshops are now open.

It turns out us tree huggers were right. 🌳😂

There is actually research looking at what happens when you put your bare feet on the bloody ground.

And it’s pretty interesting.

Studies on grounding have reported changes in things like:

🌿 cortisol and stress
🌿 sleep
🌿 pain
🌿 inflammation
🌿 heart rate variability
🌿 mood and fatigue
🌿 physical function

One study looked at people sleeping grounded for 8 weeks and found changes in their cortisol patterns, along with improvements they reported in sleep, pain and stress.

Another randomised controlled trial found improvements in pain, physical function, energy, fatigue and mood in people who were grounded.

And this is exactly why I bloody love getting outside.

Take your shoes off. Stand on the earth. Walk through the grass. Sit under a tree. Get your hands in the soil.

You don’t need a fancy wellness retreat or another gadget.

Sometimes you just need to get your feet on the ground. 🌿

Who enjoys a bit of barefoot action?

Why the hell are we not using roses medicinally? 🌹

And don’t be offended if you sent me a beautiful bouquet and then found me chopping the heads off it 😂

I’m making use of them!

Rose petals have been used traditionally for all sorts of things, including digestion, sore gums and mouths, irritated skin, inflammation and menstrual discomfort.

And yes, you can eat the petals.

Just make bloody sure you know where they’ve come from and that they haven’t been sprayed with chemicals. Your florist’s roses aren’t going in my tea!

There is also some really interesting research looking at the compounds in rose petals and what they can do.

So next time someone gives you roses, you might want to think twice before sticking them in a vase. 🌹

Would you use roses medicinally?

🌿 Why are they so bloody good for you?

Nettle seeds.

And if you’ve never tried them, you’re missing a proper little powerhouse.

They’re packed with oils, protein and plant compounds, and they’ve been used traditionally when people are feeling bloody knackered and depleted.

They’re also known as “Russian marching powder” 👀

The folklore says they were used for strength, stamina and keeping people going when they needed a bit more oomph.

And then there’s the joints...

Nettle has a long history of traditional use for aches, stiffness and inflammatory joint complaints, although most of the actual research is on nettle leaf rather than the seeds.

But I bloody love the folklore around them too.

🌿 Protection
🔥 Strength
🧙‍♀️ Warding off unwanted energy
💪 Stamina & vitality
🌱 A proper old-school herbal ally

Sometimes the plants growing under your feet have the best stories.

Have you ever used nettle seeds?

Yes… I am listening to plants play music 🎵

And no… it’s not me being away with the fairies again 😂 My device picks up the electrical signals from the plant, and translates them into music 🎵

The more active the signal, the happier the plant 🌱 These plants are loving the water, from the canal, and the sun beginning to set

What plant would you listen to?

✨ Are you making the most of tomorrow’s energy? 🌙

The 8/8 Lion’s Gate Portal is one of those dates that always gets people talking.

For me, I love any excuse to slow down, get outside and reconnect.

Tomorrow I’m going to spend some time in nature, work with mugwort, write down what I want to release, and think about what I want to invite into my life.

Sometimes we spend so much time trying to bring more in...
..we forget to clear a little space first.

Whether you see it as a spiritual portal, a moment of reflection, or simply a beautiful excuse to pause...

I think we could all do with a bit more of that. 🌿

What are you releasing? 🌙

🌿 The herb every witch should have in her cupboard... Mugwort. 🌙

I’ve just made a fresh batch ready to go.

For centuries, mugwort has been used as a woman’s herb, traditionally supporting hormonal transitions, sleep, digestion and the nervous system.

With the Lunar Eclipse just around the corner, it’s also one of the most magical herbs in folklore.

✨ Burn it during ritual.
🌙 Pop it under your pillow for vivid dreams.
🛁 Add it to a ritual bath.
📖 Use it while journalling what you’re ready to let go of.

Whether you’re drawn to the herbal tradition or the folklore, mugwort has earned its place in my apothecary.

If you’d like some, drop me a 🌙 below or send me a message.

How much crap is in your capsules? 🍄

This is why I make mine differently.

When you buy a mushroom supplement, do you actually know what’s inside?

A lot of products contain things like:

🌾 Mycelium grown on substrate
🍚 Rice flour
🌽 Maltodextrin
🌳 Microcrystalline cellulose
🧂 Magnesium stearate
💨 Silicon dioxide
🧱 Other bulking agents and fillers

If I’m taking a mushroom supplement, I want mushrooms.

Not the growing medium.
Not fillers.
Not unnecessary extras.

My capsules contain:

🍄 100% fruiting body mushrooms
🌱 Vegan capsules
🖐️ Filled by hand

And I don’t just hand someone a pot and send them on their way. Every person has a consultation first, because the right mushroom depends on the individual.

Quality matters.

What’s actually in your supplements? Have you ever checked the label? 👀

I bloody love this plant... but I wouldn’t go anywhere near eating it. 😅🌿

Lords and Ladies has to be one of our strangest wild plants. It’s got more than 90 different folk names (some of them far too rude to put on Instagram 🤭), and its flower has long been linked with fertility and the arrival of spring.

Then along come those bright red berries... beautiful, but seriously poisonous.

This is exactly why I always say foraging isn’t about filling a basket. It’s about learning to really see what’s growing around you. The dangerous plants deserve just as much attention as the edible ones.

Have you spotted Lords and Ladies in your local woods yet? ❤️
