🔥 IS THIS ALREADY A COMPLICATION?

Not necessarily. This can be a completely normal stage of healing after an intensive fractional ablative laser treatment.

And this is exactly why I always say one thing before this type of procedure:

Ablative laser is not a “facial with a weekend of downtime.”

It is one of the most intensive skin resurfacing treatments. The laser creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin and removes part of the epidermis, triggering a powerful regenerative response and collagen remodelling.

That means the skin can look much worse before it starts looking better.

In this photo, we can see changes commonly associated with the healing phase: significant redness, swelling, peeling, dryness, small crusts and a temporarily compromised skin barrier.

That appearance alone does not automatically mean something has gone wrong.

What actually happens after the treatment?

The most intense healing phase usually lasts several days, but redness can persist much longer.

Depending on the treatment depth, laser settings and individual skin response, the skin may remain pink or red for several weeks.

And this is important:

The stronger the treatment, the greater the potential result, but also the greater the downtime and the higher the risk of side effects.

What can fractional ablative laser be used for?

It may be used for:
• acne scars
• surgical and traumatic scars
• uneven skin texture
• deeper lines and wrinkles
• photoageing and sun damage
• enlarged pores
• selected pigmentation concerns
• loss of skin firmness and overall skin quality

PRP or PRF?

Not every regenerative treatment works the same and that’s exactly why the right choice matters.

Both PRP and PRF are derived from your own blood and both are used to support skin repair, healing, and overall skin quality. But they are not identical.

PRP is more liquid and is often used to stimulate regeneration and improve skin quality.
PRF has a richer fibrin matrix and releases growth factors more slowly, which can make it a great option when longer regenerative support is needed.

The best treatment is not the one with the louder name.
