What looks like a soft, natural hair from a normal distance is essentially made up of tiny little pixels of pigment placed with so much intention that our eyes put them together and read them as a real hair.

The direction, spacing, saturation and shape of every little pixel matters and I honestly think that’s one of the coolest parts of this technique

One of my favourite parts of lip blush? Choosing the colour 🩷

I love creating a shade that feels like your natural lip colour — just brighter, fresher and more defined! Everyone searches for definition through lip filler - but filler gives you volume and not definition.

I know the pigment can look vert bright at this stage 😅 but please don’t let the fresh colour scare you!

When we first tattoo the lips, the pigment is at full saturation and sitting right on top of the skin, so it will naturally look much more intense than the healed result.

As it heals:

→ the colour fades significantly — often around 50%
→ the pigment settles beneath the surface of the lip tissue
→ and your natural lip colour acts as another layer/filter over the healed pigment

So that bright pigment you see beside the lips isn’t necessarily what you’re going to see once everything has healed.

❗️This is why choosing the right artist matters so much

Find an artist whose healed work you genuinely love, communicate what you’re looking for, and then trust their expertise when it comes to selecting the colour that will get you there.

Because sometimes the colour that looks scariest fresh is exactly the colour that creates the perfect healed result 💜
