The First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah: Virtues and Acts of Worship

In the Holy Qur’an, Allah swears by the “ten nights” in the verse" و ليال عشر” (And by the ten nights), which is the greatest proof of the importance and excellence of the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. After the blessed month of Ramadan, these days are a golden opportunity to prepare for the Hereafter. During this blessed period, the great pillar of Hajj, Wuquf-e-Arafah (standing at Arafah), is also performed — a special day for the descent of Allah’s mercy. Therefore, adorn these ten days with worship, remembrance of Allah, fasting, and sacrifice, and seek closeness to Allah.
Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas رضی اللہ عنہ narrated that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.”
