Body care isn’t one-size-fits-all. Different areas can have different concerns, which means the ingredients you use should be chosen based on what you’re actually trying to treat.
For the face and neck, ingredients such as niacinamide, vitamin C, azelaic acid, and lactic acid can help with uneven tone and pigmentation, while salicylic acid can be useful for congestion and acne. For underarms, focus on pigmentation or roughness without over-scrubbing, since irritation can make pigmentation more noticeable.
Elbows and knees often need a combination of gentle exfoliation and moisturisation, especially when the skin feels rough or looks darker. For body acne on the back and chest, ingredients like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide can help manage breakouts, while azelaic acid and niacinamide may help with the marks left behind.
The biggest body-care rule? Treat the concern, not just the body part.
Patch test, introduce actives slowly, moisturise regularly, and use SPF on exposed areas.

Noticing that your neck looks darker than your face? It’s not always just a skincare issue.
Sun exposure, repeated friction, irritation, and post-inflammatory pigmentation can all contribute to a darker-looking neck. In some cases, genetics or underlying metabolic concerns such as insulin resistance may also play a role.
Start with the basics: use sunscreen and moisturiser regularly, avoid aggressive scrubbing, and minimise friction from tight collars, jewellery, or other sources of irritation. Ingredients such as niacinamide, azelaic acid, lactic acid, and glycolic acid may help with uneven tone and texture when used appropriately.
However, if the skin on your neck is becoming noticeably darker, thicker, and velvety, don’t treat it as pigmentation alone. It can sometimes be associated with insulin resistance and should be evaluated by a healthcare professional.
When an underlying cause is involved, addressing that cause matters more than simply trying to lighten the skin.

Hair fall doesn’t always start at the scalp. Sometimes, an underlying nutritional, hormonal, or health-related issue can contribute to increased shedding, which is why identifying the cause matters.
Depending on your symptoms and hair loss pattern, a dermatologist may consider tests such as iron and ferritin to assess iron stores, thyroid tests to check thyroid function, or nutrient levels such as vitamin D, B12, folate, and zinc.
A CBC may also be recommended to check for anaemia, while hormonal testing may be considered when your symptoms suggest a hormonal cause.
But you don’t necessarily need every test on this list. Your dermatologist will decide what is appropriate based on your symptoms, medical history, examination, and pattern of hair loss.
Don’t test blindly. Get evaluated first, then test based on what your doctor suspects.

Treating pigmentation isn’t about using as many brightening ingredients as possible. It’s about knowing which ingredients complement each other and which combinations need more caution.
Vitamin C and sunscreen can work together in a morning routine, while niacinamide pairs well with azelaic acid and alpha arbutin. Azelaic acid and tranexamic acid can also be used together when your skin tolerates the combination.
On the other hand, combining multiple exfoliating or strong actives can increase the risk of dryness and irritation. Retinoids with AHAs or BHAs, AHAs with BHAs, and multiple brightening actives should be introduced carefully rather than layered all at once.
If you’re new to active ingredients, start one at a time and give your skin time to adjust. A simpler routine that your skin can tolerate consistently is often more useful than an overloaded one.

Not every pimple means you have acne, but when breakouts keep coming back, it’s worth paying attention to the pattern.
An occasional pimple can often be managed with a simple, consistent routine. Avoid picking or squeezing it, use targeted acne care, and give your skin time to heal. Trying too many products at once can cause more irritation and make things harder to manage.
But frequent breakouts, acne that isn’t improving, or pimples appearing regularly across the face, chest, or back may need more than skincare alone. Painful or deep bumps can also increase the risk of marks and scarring.
If your acne is leaving dark spots, pits, or raised scars, don’t wait for it to become more difficult to manage. A dermatologist can identify the type and severity of acne and recommend the right treatment.

Self-care doesn’t always need to be complicated. Sometimes, it’s simply taking a few extra minutes to give your skin the care it needs.
Start with a gentle cleanse, follow with a targeted serum for specific skin concerns, then lock in hydration with a moisturiser. Finish by giving the delicate under-eye area some extra care with an eye cream.
For this routine:
Clinikally HydraSoft Pro Gentle Skin Cleanser
Asaya Advanced Spot Targeting Face Serum
Clinikally HydraSoothe Moisturiser
Be Clinical Revive 10 Eye Cream
A simple routine, a little consistency, and some time set aside for yourself can go a long way.
