Dr Sidney | Orthopaedic Surgeon- Every vitamin has a specific job in your body. 🧬

From supporting vision and energy production to helping with DNA synthesis, nerve function, collagen formation, calcium absorption and cell protection, vitamins play essential roles in keeping your body functioning properly.

But more isn’t always better. Your body needs the right vitamins in the right amounts, and many are best obtained through a balanced diet.

Think of vitamins as tiny workers — each with a different job, but all working toward the same goal:

Keeping your body running at its best. šŸ’™

Save this vitamin cheat sheet for later. šŸ“Œ

Stress doesn’t always stay in your mind - sometimes your body feels it too.

From a racing heart and headaches to muscle tension, digestive discomfort and poor sleep, prolonged stress can show up in many different ways.

That’s why taking care of yourself isn’t selfish. ā¤ļø

Slow down. Rest when you need to. Move your body. Breathe. Give yourself a break.

You don’t have to be strong every single day.

Sometimes, rest is part of recovery. šŸ§ šŸ’™

Save this as a reminder for the days when life feels overwhelming.

Dr Sidney | Orthopaedic Surgeon -
The X-ray shows a sunburst pattern often associated with osteosarcoma (OS). A photo of the same pathology (not the same femur in the X-ray) is shown also.

According to doctors, classic OS with classic description of:
Metaphyseal-based, ill-defined distal femoral lesion with osteoblastic calcification, cortical destruction, spiculated (hair-on-end or sunray type periosteal reaction) + Codman’s triangle on medial and distal part of lesion, wide zone of transition, and soft tissue extension. Clearly malignant lesion.

Dr Sidney | Orthopaedic Surgeon -This real image of an extremely premature baby, just 24 weeks pregnant.

At this stage, many of the organs are still in the maturation process. The lungs are immature, the brain is still developing and the digestive system is also not prepared to function like that of a full-term newborn.

Therefore, being born so early means facing a real race against time.

These babies may need ventilation or CPAP, intravenous nutrition, strict temperature control, and a series of intensive care as their bodies continue to mature.

And perhaps that's precisely what makes this image so impressive: a small hand coming out of a tiny opening... as if to say: ā€œI'm still here.ā€

In Medicine, every gram, every day and every small evolution can make a difference.

Support is offered, but it is the organism that, day after day, continues to learn to live.ā¤ļø

Dr Sidney | Orthopaedic Surgeon - That swelling behind your knee may not be ā€œjust fluid.ā€ It could be a Baker’s cyst.

A Baker’s cyst is a fluid-filled swelling that develops behind the knee, often due to increased joint fluid from conditions such as knee arthritis, meniscus tears, or inflammation.

It may cause tightness, stiffness, swelling, or discomfort, especially when bending or straightening the knee. Some cysts cause little or no symptoms.

If you notice a persistent lump or swelling behind your knee, it’s worth getting it evaluated rather than assuming it’s harmless.

Have you ever noticed a swelling behind your knee?

Dr Sidney | Orthopaedic Surgeon - Your body is changing even when you can’t see it.

Your muscles, bones, arteries, abdominal fat and mind are all influenced by the habits you repeat every day.

Exercise, movement, nutrition, sleep and how you manage stress can shape your health from the inside out.

You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to be consistent.

Take care of the parts of your body that nobody else can see.

Dr Sidney | Orthopaedic Surgeon- Strength training isn’t just about building bigger muscles. šŸ’Ŗ

It’s about building a body that can move, perform and stay resilient as you age.

Regular resistance exercise can improve muscle strength, bone health, balance and metabolic health, while being associated with lower risks of several chronic conditions.

And yes… looking stronger is a bonus. šŸ˜

Train for your future, not just your physique.

How often do you strength train? šŸ‘‡
