Place - Begam , Garden Galleria As per the name , this huge place has a royal vibe and I was in love with the soothing Moroccan interiors and the arabic motifs all over. The service is very attentive ( the place was empty at lunch hour on a week day except for a kitty party). There are multi-cuisine veg and non veg options including bar menu. This was one of the few places that had sushi on the menu but I did not try that. We had mocktails and a vegetarian tandoori platter, delicious by the way, followed by a vegetarian biryani which had a suspicious smell of chicken and that elevated the experience for my carnivorous friends but diminished mine! The prices are quite steep though the portion sizes are quite generous too. Attended the party of the book "Secret of the Pickled Dream" by debutant author Yesha Gambhir Mirza.

The event was much more than what I had expected. Since the book has pickle making as an intrinsic part of the story telling , the venue had a live pickle making station which filled the air with nostalgic memories of Dadi Maa ke hath ka swad.

At our tables were placed cute little pickle jars hiding within them a beautiful message.

There was a light hearted but illuminating panel discussion about the book with Elizabeth Kuruvilla , publishing director of Simon & Schuster IN , the illustrator of this book Priyanka Pachpande and the author herself Yesh Gambhir Mirza . The discussion was moderated by famous storyteller Neil Jariyal in her characteristic booming voice.

The unveiling of the book and book reading was followed by a lovely Sunday brunch.

About the book - The book "Secret of the pickled Dream' is narrated from a child's point of view. It is the engaging story of a little girl with a dream enriched by the wisdom of her grandmother. The beautiful illustrations and the catchy font make it a pleasure to read.
A must read book for all young ones.

I was thrilled to attend the mega #booklaunch of “Gulabi khanjar “ a book that has become an #amazonbestseller soon after its release. The event was held at The Godavari auditorium in Lodhi Institutional Area, Delhi. The book has been Co-authored by Dilip Pandey , Chanchal Sharma and Rohit Sakunia. Ex-CM of Delhi , Arvind Kejriwal was the guest of honour and bigwigs of The Aam Admi Party , Sanjay Singh , Satendra Jain abd Manish Shishodia came to offer their best wishes for the book and its authors. Stand up Comedian Rajeev Nigam gave us some light moments with his wit and satire. I shall review the book in my next post , for now it will suffice that this book is a historical fiction set around 500 years back in Naushera ( now in Pakistan). Gulabi khanjar is a war saga between a Jaat king and an Afgani warlord with lot of thrilling twists and a tender love story unfolding amidst all of it. The story has been narrated in a pictorial and vivid writing style which fuelled talks of this being a great subject for a successful web series. I got my copy of the book and can’t wait to finish it.
