Thank you, to , for sharing and amplifying this important work.
One of the greatest privileges of our work at NBKG is walking alongside children and adolescents as they learn, grow, heal, and discover their strengths.
Through our sessions at Ruiru Children’s Home, we’ve had the opportunity to create spaces where young people can talk about mental health, build healthy coping skills, strengthen relationships, and know that they are not alone.
Every conversation matters. Every child matters. 💚

As we wrap up Mental Health Awareness Month, we are deeply grateful to Institute for believing in and supporting the work we do through New Beginnings Kwa Ground. 💚
Through Kwa Ground Kijijini, we have continued creating safe spaces, mental health support, healing conversations, and hope for children and adolescents at Ruiru Children’s Rehabilitation Home.
This work is a reminder that mental health support for children and young people is not a luxury , it is necessary, urgent, and life-changing.
Thank you to every facilitator, counselor, supporter, and young person who has been part of this journey. The impact goes beyond sessions; it is seen in confidence rebuilt, emotions expressed, healthier coping, and young people feeling seen and heard.
Here’s to continuing the work beyond Mental Health Awareness Month. Because every child deserves care, support, and a chance to thrive. ✨

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we facilitated a mental health and wellbeing session for artists and creatives from
Through interactive discussions, reflection exercises, and community storytelling, participants explored what mental health looks like within their own lived experiences and cultures, while identifying healthier coping mechanisms, peer support systems, and realistic self-care practices.
Mental health conversations must also include creatives, especially those navigating economic hardship, unstable income, community stressors, and limited access to psychosocial support.
Together, we explored burnout, emotional wellbeing, pressure within creative spaces, healthy coping mechanisms, and the importance of supporting the artist behind the art.
We're super grateful for the opportunity to take mental health to community spaces and help communities support each other with mental wellbeing.

Every child deserves to feel safe, protected, heard, and loved. 💛
This International Missing Children’s Day, we stand in solidarity with children and families across Kenya while raising awareness on child safety, protection, mental health, and emotional well-being.
Behind every missing child is a story, a family, and a future that matters.
Let us create safer environments, strengthen support systems, listen to our children, and protect them both online and offline.
Together, we can build a world where every child feels seen, valued, and safe. 🌍✨

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we are reminding every child and adolescent that their mental health matters. 💛
Across Kenya and Africa, many young people are silently struggling with stress, anxiety, bullying, trauma, academic pressure, substance abuse, and emotional overwhelm — often without support.
Mental health is not weakness.Asking for help is not shameful.Every young person deserves to feel seen, heard, supported, and hopeful.
Let’s create safe spaces where children and adolescents can talk openly, seek support early, and grow into healthy futures.
Together, we can choose compassion, conversation, and care.
