Niacinamide is a supportive brightening ingredient not a major depigmenting power house, its main pigment related role is reducing the transfer of melanin from the melanocytes to the outer cells of the skin.
For severe hyperpigmentation, niacinamide alone cannot fade hyperpigmentation.
