From the very beginning, we received messages from creators, photographers, home bakers and small business owners outside Sri Lanka asking the same question:

The demand was always there. But we chose not to rush it.

Viola or Merlot? 💜🍷

Okay… this is one of those “this or that” posts where I already know which one I’m picking. 😂

Viola is a beautiful solid purple textured backdrop with a more muted, soft purple tone. It’s simple, versatile and works beautifully with pretty much any type of photography — especially if you love adding a little colour without making the backdrop too dramatic. 💜

Then there’s Merlot. 🍷

It has the same beautiful texture as Viola, but with a little more going on. The deeper black tones and subtle white details give it more depth, while the purple itself is richer and more saturated.

So while both belong to the same colour family, they create quite different moods.

Viola feels softer, calmer and more understated.
Merlot feels deeper, bolder and a little more dramatic. ✨

And I have to admit… I’m completely biased on this one. 😂

If I had to choose between the two, Merlot is 100% my personal pick. 🍷💜
