A delightful cross-cultural musical masterpiece! 🎶🌏✨ Take a retrospective look at this incredible 1996 Asian tour footage, where Regis Mengus and Hyacinthe de Moulins, two talented members of the legendary Les Petits Chanteurs de Paris, charm the audience with their unforgettable live presentation. Accompanied gracefully by pianist Rodolphe Pierrepont, the young duo brings the famous “Duetto buffo di due gatti” to life with remarkable vocal control and impeccable comedic timing. 🎤🎹

While the hilarious piece is traditionally attributed to Gioachino Rossini, it is actually an uncredited 1825 compilation arranged by British composer Robert Lucas Pearsall under the pseudonym “G. Berthold,” using thematic material from Rossini’s 1816 opera Otello. Watching these young soloists maintain immaculate posture and vocal precision while turning a single syllable into an escalating operatic duel is both technically impressive and genuinely entertaining. 😂🎼❤️
