因民都鲁突发水灾影响，旅游、艺术及文化部长兼民都鲁区国会议员拿督斯里张庆信宣布，原定于2月9日的新春开放门户活动取消，并将相关资金转用于援助灾民，以协助受灾家庭尽快恢复正常生活。
该新春开放门户筹备会小组成员在商讨后，并向张庆信提议取消活动，将相关资金用于救灾工作，这一提议获得了张庆信的认同。
筹备会小组认为，面对灾难，大家应当优先关注受影响的人民。水灾带来的影响深远，许多家庭被迫撤离家园，部分灾民仍滞留在临时疏散中心，急需各界支援。因此，决定取消新春开放门户活动，将资源用于更紧迫的救援工作。
