๐ Malaysiaโs unemployment rate has fallen to 3.0% in 2025, marking the countryโs lowest unemployment rate in the past decade.
According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), the labour market continued to strengthen throughout the year, supported by rising employment, higher labour force participation, and improving youth employment.
Key highlights:
โ
Employment increased to 16.58 million people
โ
Labour force participation rate rose to 70.8%
โ
Youth unemployment declined to 9.6%
โ
Underemployment rates continued to improve
The positive trend reflects a resilient economy and sustained demand for talent across various industries. As Malaysia moves towards a greener and more technology-driven economy, workforce development, upskilling, and talent retention will remain crucial for long-term growth.
What do you think has been the biggest factor contributing to the improvement in Malaysiaโs labour market? Share your thoughts below.

The next HR risk isnโt remote work.
Itโs AI misuse.
Employees are increasingly using AI tools to draft emails, analyse data, prepare reports, and generate content.
But many organisations still have:
โ No AI policy
โ No AI governance framework
โ No employee guidance
The result?
Potential risks involving confidentiality, compliance, accuracy, and accountability.
Technology is advancing faster than policy.
And thatโs where leaders should be paying attention.

โIf itโs not documented, itโs not protected.โ
Many organisations rely on unwritten rules, verbal instructions, and assumptions.
Until a dispute arises.
A well-crafted Employee Handbook does more than communicate policies.
It creates consistency.
Sets expectations.
Supports fair decision-making.
And helps protect both employees and employers.
The strongest organisations donโt leave important matters open to interpretation.
They document them.
๐ Is your Employee Handbook helping your businessโor exposing it to unnecessary risk?

The workplace has changed more in the last two years than many organisations changed in the previous ten.
AI is rewriting workflows.
Automation is redefining productivity.
And the skills that made people successful yesterday may not be enough tomorrow.
The biggest risk today isnโt AI.
Itโs standing still while everything else moves forward.
Our August workshops are designed to help professionals and organisations build the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving workplace.
Because in the age of AI, learning is no longer optional.
Itโs a competitive advantage.

Stress is no longer just a personal issue.
It has become a workplace issue.
Many employees today are not just physically tired โ they are mentally and emotionally exhausted from constant pressure, unclear priorities, emotional overload, and the feeling of always needing to โkeep up.โ
And yet, many organisations still mistake burnout for lack of resilience.
The reality is:
Sustainable performance does not come from pushing people harder.
It comes from building healthier systems, clearer boundaries, better communication, and a culture where wellbeing is not treated as an afterthought.
Because productivity without wellbeing is not sustainable.
๐ Save this for yourself or someone who needs the reminder today.

Letโs start a debate.
Whatโs one workplace trend everyone talks about
โbut you think is overrated? ๐
Sometimes companies focus so much on trends, they forget to ask:
โIs this actually improving the way people work?โ
๐ Weโre curious to hear your answer.

โEmployees may forget many things at work.
But they never forget payroll mistakes.โ
Because payroll is not just about salaries.
It is one of the clearest reflections of how well an organisation operates behind the scenes.
Late payments, calculation errors, and compliance issues may appear administrative on the surface โ but employees often interpret them very differently:
โข Can this company be trusted?
โข Is the organisation well managed?
โข Does the company truly value its people?
In many ways, payroll is operational credibility made visible.
The strongest organisations understand this:
Payroll is not merely a back-office function.
It is part of employee experience, organisational trust, and business reputation.
