South Indian Ritual House

Photos from Marabu's post 18/05/2026

Marabu is evolving.

Over the past year, we’ve explored ritual through objects, gifting, journals, incense, and sensory living. Along the way, one thing became increasingly clear:

Scent was always at the center.

Not fragrance as excess.
But scent as atmosphere.
As memory.
As presence.

Today, Marabu moves forward as a South Indian scent house rooted in ritual traditions, sensory design, and everyday practice.

Hand-rolled incense.
Solid perfume.
Ritual oils.
Created with intention and shaped by heritage.

To everyone who has supported us, ordered from us, shared our work, or simply stayed with us while we found our voice - thank you.

This is the next chapter of Marabu.

Rooted in tradition, crafted with intention.

Self care is not new.
In Tamil homes, it existed long before it had a name.

Incense at dawn. Lamps lit before sunrise. Jasmine woven into hair before the day began.

The language may have changed.
But the wisdom itself is ancient.

A reflection on ritual, scent, and the women who preserved practices of presence long before modern wellness culture rediscovered them.

“The self care was always there. Our mothers just called it morning.”

A quiet offering of scent, light, and stillness.

Created for the woman who holds everything,
Niraivu is not a gift box, but a ritual—
an invitation to pause and return to self.

With incense, brass, perfume, ritual oil, and guided reflections,
each element is designed to be experienced slowly,
in moments of presence and care.

Limited in quantity.
Made for this season alone.

Rituals passed down from my mother.

She lit incense. Drew kolam. Anointed with oil. Adorned jasmine.

She never explained, just did it. And I watched. And I learned.

Now I do the same. The Mother’s Day Box holds what she taught me.

For your mother. For yourself. For ritual as legacy.

Niraivu: Mother’s Day Edition

Not a gift to impress.
A ritual she can return to.

Light to begin.
Scent to soften.
Words to ground.
Touch to come back to the body.

For the moments that are hers alone.

Limited.

Incense has always been part of our homes.
But not always something we return to consciously.

This is a simple way to begin again.
Not as a ritual you have to follow - but one you come back to.
