It’s been a while since I’ve shared updates here. I wanted to let you know that I’ve been focusing my efforts on merging Edel Botanica with my main brand, Deanna Yusoff. Playing around with natural surfactants to make this cleansing foam for the hair. It’s to be used instead of dry shampoo. It does dampen the hair slightly but unlike dry shampoo, it doesn’t cover the hair and scalp with powder.

Will let you know which one we prefer.

In the lab today perfecting a serum with hyaluronic acid, provitamin B5 (panthenol), Niacinamide (B3), algae and other actives to help rehydrate dry and tired skin. And what makes it even more exciting, it’s all made with natural ingredients. ❤️❤️

Formulating a new scent for a face balm using essential oils.

Work in progress. Anti ageing eye cream with camellia oil, blueberry seed oil, coffee bean oil and hyaluronic acid. Will help to reduce puffiness and eye bags as well as soften the delicate skin around the eyes.

VITAMIN E - Tocopherol⁠

Vitamin E oil is both a nutrient and an antioxidant and is used in skincare for a variety of purposes.⁠
⁠
It is added to skincare as an antioxidant to prolong the shelf-life of the oils and butters. But the antioxidant properties also benefit the skin itself.⁠

Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, it soothes skin flare-ups. It also helps repair scarred and blemished skin.⁠
⁠
It is a great anti-aging addition in formulations as it prevents moisture-loss and delays wrinkle formation.⁠
⁠
Vitamin E is very thick and is usually mixed with another carrier oil to make it more pourable and spreadable. ⁠

There are many types of Vitamin E but the most common one is probably Alpha Tocopherol.⁠
⁠
Vitamin E is usually sourced from cereal germ including soya and wheat. The processing procedure usually renders the final product gluten free.⁠
⁠
There are natural and synthetic versions of Vitamin E. The synthethic version is called Tocopheryl Acetate and is used mainly for its antioxidant properties. They are both commonly used in skincare and healthcare but it is widely accepted that Natural Vitamin E works more efficiently. ⁠

If you have never used Vitamin E oil before, perform an allergy patch test before applying it to your face.⁠

APRICOT KERNEL OIL⁠

This is another great all-purpose carrier oil that has properties similar to Sweet Almond Oil. However, it is lighter in texture and viscosity. A good substitute if you are allergic to nuts. ⁠
