DATE: WEDNESDAY JULY 8TH 2026
THEME: EXCEED IN PRAYER
MEMORISE: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching there unto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Ephesians 6:18
READ: Genesis 32:24-30
24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
MESSAGE
Sometime in 1975, my Father in the Lord, Pa Josiah Akindayomi, came to stay with me in my little house in llesha, a city in Southwest Nigeria. Even though it is a mud house that was plastered with cement, I was happy to host my Father in the Lord. When it was nighttime, we prayed together, and I prepared to go to bed. As I went into my room to sleep, I saw that he was still on his knees, praying, and when I woke up to use the toilet in the middle of the night and again around 5am, the old man was surprisingly still on his knees, praying. I was worried, so l asked if there was a problem, and he said I would soon understand. I have followed in his footsteps since then, and I truly now understand that, as believers, we ought to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
Beloved, God has called all His children to a life of prayer. Unfortunately, howeve

THEME: IMBIBE ETIQUETTE
AUTHOR: PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE
MEMORISE: Let all things be done decently and in order. 1 Corinthians 14:40
READ: TITUS 3:1-2
[1]Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
[2]To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
MESSAGE:
These days, many young people lack basic social etiquette. If you are a genuine child of God, however, you will act accordingly and make Him proud wherever you find yourself. Apart from portraying you as a true representative of Jesus on earth, imbibing good manners will also earn you the admiration of people. The following are some basic manners you should imbibe as a child of God:
1. Do not text, use social media, or answer calls while speaking with someone. If you need to receive a call, politely excuse yourself.
2. Say 'please' and 'thank you' often.
3. Apologise when you do something
4. Seek permission from the owner of an item before using it.
5. Wait your turn to speak in a conversation; don't interrupt.
6. Do not scroll through a person's phone without permission.
7. Always open the door for anyone who is coming after you, be it male or female.
8. Cough into your elbow and cover your mouth when you sneeze.
9. When sitting next to someone, do not look into the person's phone or book.
Always mind your business.
1. Always leave restrooms in good conditions after using them.
2. Always chew with your mouth closed.
KEY POINT: Good manners portray you as a child of God.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Mark 13:1-13, Deuteronomy 11-13
HYMN: I'M PRESSING ON THE UPWARD WAY
1: I'm pressing on the upward way,
New heights I'm gaining everyday;
Still praying as I onward bound
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
Chorus:
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven's table-land;
Where love, and joy, and light abound,

*THEME: HE SEARCHES THE HEART*
*MEMORISE:*
*I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings. - (Jeremiah 17:10)*
*READ: Genesis 4:4-12 (KJV)*
4. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
5. But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
6. And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7. If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
8. And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
9. And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?
10. And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
11. And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;
12. When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
*MESSAGE:*
Today's Bible reading tells us that God God had no respect for Cain's offering. However, Hebrews 11:4 tells us the reason:
By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.
The Bible passage above makes it clear that Abel's sacrifice was more pleasing to God because he was a righteous man. Beloved, your motive is important in everything you do, especially while rendering service to God. Today, man

DATE: SUNDAY JULY 5TH 2026
THEME: WHAT IS YOUR DEEPEST DESIRE?
MEMORISE: My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.
Psalm 130:6
READ: John 12:20-21
20 And there were certain Greeks
among them that came up to worship at the feast:
21 The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.
MESSAGE
One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4
In the Scripture above and many other instances in the Bible, David expressed his desire to dwell in God's presence. In Psalm 63:1-2, he expressed his yearning to seek God early and see His power and glory. In verse 6 of the same chapter, he said that he remembered God upon his bed and meditated on Him in the night watches. Also, in today's memory verse, he said that his soul waited for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning. Watchmen always look forward to daybreak when they would be free to rest and relax, and David likened his intense desire for God to their longing for daybreak.
Beloved, what or whom are you seeking? In today's Bible reading, certain Greeks went to worship at the feast in Jerusalem, and when they saw Philip, they said, "Sir, we would see Jesus." If God gives you a blank cheque today, what will you ask for? Will you ask for things that will perish with time, or will you ask to see Jesus? People who seek God only for material things will never truly be satisfied because they will ultimately fade away. However, those who genuinely seek God and His Kingdom always find Him (Jeremiah 29:13) and become truly satisfied, as every other thing they need is added to them (Matthew 6:33).
God will always draw near to those who draw near to Him (James 4:8); He showed this clea

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL
DATE: SUNDAY 21ST JUNE 2026.
TOPIC: EMULATE YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER
MEMORIZE:
"That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises." Hebrews 6:12 (KJV)
BIBLE READING: EPHESIANS 5:1-5
1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
MESSAGE:
Years ago, a pastor prayed and told God that if He gave him ten percent of what I had, he would be satisfied. God told him that if he could do what I do, then he would get what I had. When he asked God about what I had done in the past, God told him that I started with 40 days of fasting. The man told God to leave him as he was because he was not ready to follow that example.
Child of God, to achieve certain results in life, you must follow certain examples as it is only natural to eventually become like those whose lifestyle you emulate. When Elijah was taken up into heaven, Elisha received a double portion of the anointing on Elijah's life, took Elijah's mantle, rolled it up, and struck River Jordan. Then, he asked God to part the river as he had parted it for Elijah, and God did so. Elisha followed his father's example. Paul told the believers at Corinth to follow him as he followed Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1). The question is, who are you following? Who are you mimicking? Ephesians 5:1 says that we should be followers of God as dear children.
As we follow God, there are also people of God around us whom we can also follow

*TOPIC: OBEY HIM*
MEMORIZE:
"And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams." 1 Samuel 15:22 (KJV)
BIBLE READING: GENESIS 22:1-3, MATTHEW 2:13-14
GENESIS 22:1-3 (KJV)
1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.
2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
MATTHEW 2:13-14 (KJV)
13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
MESSAGE:
Sometimes, God gives instructions that appear to be very difficult to obey, and because of that, some Christians delay obeying them for long periods. There is, however, little difference, if any, between delaying obedience to God's instructions and outright disobedience.
When God asked Abraham to offer Isaac to Him as a sacrifice in Genesis 22:1-3, I imagine that he did not discuss the matter with his wife. He probably thought that discussing God's instruction with Sarah would cause delays, and he wouldn't be able to carry it out. Even though God instructed him to do something difficult, he must have decided to obey promptly and not
