This kind of message means a lot to me because this is exactly why I do what I do.
I’ve always believed that knowing the medical name of something is not the same as understanding what is happening in your body.
You shouldn’t have to leave a doctor’s office more confused than when you walked in.
You shouldn’t need a medical degree to understand your own body.
Sometimes, all a woman needs is for someone to slow down, break down the big medical words, connect the dots, and help her understand what her body is actually experiencing.
That is the kind of education I want to keep bringing to 9jabirthingmom.
Not fear.
Not unnecessary medical jargon.
Understanding. Clarity. Practical education.
Because when you understand your body, you become better equipped to advocate for yourself, ask the right questions, seek the right care, and make informed decisions.
And to the woman who sent this message… thank you. 🥹
You may think you were just complimenting me, but you reminded me that the hours I spend researching, learning, simplifying and explaining are worth it.
Just 2 weeks in the heal2fix&fit recovery programme there has been a significant improvement in this mum’s lower abdominal/belly region and, importantly, changes in how she was managing pressure through her body.
This is why postpartum recovery should be more than simply doing random exercises or trying to flatten your belly.
If you’re a mum experiencing a persistent belly bulge, core weakness, pelvic floor symptoms, discomfort or simply feel that your body hasn’t fully recovered after childbirth, an assessment can help you understand what is really going on.
Book your postpartum assessment session with 9jabirthingmom today. Let’s assess your body and create a recovery plan tailored to YOU.

. A woman can have several areas of vulnerability at the same time.
This is why I don’t believe every postpartum belly should be treated with the same exercise, the same routine, or the same advice.
Your body may have gone through pregnancy, childbirth, surgery, increased abdominal pressure, tissue stretching and months of adapting to a growing baby.
The location of the weakness matters.
The tissues involved matter.
The way pressure is being managed matters.
So if you notice a bulge, heaviness, pain, or a persistent change around your belly after childbirth, don’t simply assume, “I just need to exercise harder.”
First, understand what is actually happening in your body.
Because postpartum recovery is not one-size-fits-all.
Â
A pregnancy and postpartum recovery specialist can assess and address areas such as breathing mechanics, core function, pelvic floor coordination, posture, mobility, strength, pressure management, and previous pregnancy-related musculoskeletal dysfunctions.
This is particularly important for women with previous C-sections, diastasis recti, pelvic floor symptoms, back or pelvic pain, or other unresolved postpartum issues.
The goal is not to interfere with fertility treatment, but to complement the medical care provided by the fertility team by helping the woman build a stronger, better-coordinated, and more physically prepared body for pregnancy and the postpartum period.

Getting stronger is important but strength alone doesn’t guarantee that your body knows how to move efficiently.
After pregnancy and childbirth, your movement patterns may change. Your muscles, joints, breathing, balance, coordination, and nervous system all have to work together again.
That’s why rehabilitation isn’t simply about giving you more exercises.
It’s about understanding how your body moves, where it compensates, what isn’t coordinating well, and what needs to be retrained.
Because the goal isn’t just to build stronger muscles.
The goal is to help your body use that strength efficiently in real life.
From lifting your baby to walking, bending, standing, exercising, and carrying out everyday activities.
Your body doesn’t just need to be stronger.
It needs to know how to use that strength.
After a C-section, healing doesn’t end when the incision closes.
Many mothers experience changes in their core, abdominal wall, scar tissue, posture, movement, and overall body function but may not know that these changes deserve attention too.
Your body went through major surgery and deserves proper recovery, not just give it time.
If you’re experiencing persistent discomfort, weakness, difficulty moving, or changes in how your body feels after childbirth, consider speaking with a qualified healthcare professional for proper assessment and guidance.
