If you have melasma, here are 5 tips to help keep your melasma in check ⤵️

1️⃣. Get SPF 50 or a tinted sunscreen with very high sun protection and apply generously because melasma is triggered by UVrays . Wear protective clothings (caps, hats, Uv protection hats, scarves..), practice sun avoidance and reapply every 2hours. In a nutshell, go crazy on sun protection.

2️⃣. Having a solid routine means you have antioxidants, pigment inhibitors, Ahas and retinoids in your skincare routine. These ingredients are needed to effectively treat melasma and help maintain the results. If not, you will literally be going in circles.

3️⃣. Hydroquinone is a treatment for melasma sadly, a lot of people abuse it. If you use only hydroquinone to treat melasma for more than month 6months, once you stop, you will have a rebound hyperpigmentation. Hydroquinone is a medication and not a cosmetic product.

4️⃣. Treating melasma is very complex especially in people of colour. A trained health care professional will analyze your skin, recommend the right products for your skin type and customize a routine to address your skin concerns.

5️⃣. Consistency is key to help prevent melasma from frequently reoccurring. Skincare is a rit*al that requires lots of dedication. Be consistent with your Am and Pm routine.
