Blisters Explained
I'm an aspiring dermatologist and cosmetic scientist
Body acne happens when sweat, oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria clog pores on areas like the back, chest, and shoulders. Tight clothing, heat, hormones, and friction can make it worse. It may appear as pimples, blackheads, or painful bumps. Unlike facial acne, body acne is often linked to sweating and trapped moisture. Gentle cleansing, breathable clothing, and ingredients like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide can help reduce breakouts and inflammation.
Blistering happens when fluid collects between layers of the skin after damage from friction, burns, allergies, infections, or irritation. The blister acts like a protective cushion while the skin underneath heals. Some blisters are painful, itchy, or filled with clear fluid. Popping them can increase the risk of infection. In some skin diseases, blistering occurs because the immune system attacks healthy skin cells, weakening the skin barrier and causing separation between skin layers.
